Infrequent service. Very poor commentary through headphones. No announcement for the next stop and which you needed to use for various attractions. Taciturn, grumpy drivers. Worst issue for us was that we'd bought our 48 hour tickets at an official tourist information office near the cathedral. We'd said we wanted to use a bus company that ran along the coast... More

We always do the open bus tours when on a city break. Great way to get a feeling of the place. There are 3 bus tour operators in Porto - Red, Yellow and Blue. The first two do almost identical tours at the same price, Blue were slightly cheaper. Not sure why but we opted for Red and booked the... More

We always use hop-on hop-off buses when available, they give you an idea of where things are and distances. This one wasn't good, the earphones were uncomfortable and only played out of one ear. The commentary on the red route bus we had sounded disinterested and the fado music played was on a loop of just one song for the... More

Confusion initially with the driver over the price. Earphones were provided for the auto-commentary. Very small amount of speaking and information provided. The speaking had a much lower sound level than the intervening loud music so you were constantly having to adjust the volume up and down depending on whether it was speaking or music. Commentary also did not match... More

Always do hop-on-hop-off bus tours, but this one was disappointing. Audio guide often wasn't consistent with location, no indication of "stop" on audio guide making it difficult to know where you were, and missed the stop or got off too early as a result occasionally. Different drivers appeared to take different routes and not necessarily follow the route so if... More

This was one of the worst city bus Tours we have done. There is almost no explanation of the city and sites through the headset. This for the most part it plays music that makes one fall asleep. The little explanation that is provided (we selected the English option) the voice of the lady feels so uninterested. I have done... More

The very first bus I was on switched routes, maybe the driver just forgot? Then, they really need to update their maps, some of the stops don't exist anymore, I guess, as I was waiting where the map said and I had to run down the street after it to catch it. I was waiting for a while, no way... More

We took the bus tour and the driver did a decent job of getting us around town. We did get a chance to see a number of sites and beta feel for the city. We do this type of tour in every new city we visit. The problem is the audio ports do not work. It took us moving three... More

The buses run too infrequently to be used as a hop on hop off. The complete tours give a taste of what is on offer but the commentary is poor and there are long periods between sights.

Buses only came every 30 minutes. The information provided on the bus was very poor. I have taken this mode of touring in other cities in europe and was far superior. If you just want to sit for an hour and 40 minutes and take in the sites, which there are not a lot of, then it is fine.
