    Lovely escape from the crowds
Really enjoyed our trip to Porto and lots of interesting and beautiful things to look around. After a few days however when the crowds and the queues start to get a bit much a pleasant 20 minute walk to these gardens was just right. Excellent view points, varied and well kept gardens, as mentioned before roosters, geese and peacocks galore and lots of clean well kept benches to watch them from. Only creatures to spoil the atmosphere were a few nuisance influencers clogging up viewpoints for interminable photo shots (10 minutes + for example at the top of the tower) until a number of us lost patience and joined in with the session

    Beautiful park
We visited the gardens on our last day in Porto after we dropped luggage at the metro station lockers. It was a peaceful but very hot day, so sitting on a bench under the trees and watching different birds was relaxing. Because we were quite tired we didn't walk through the entire garden. Maybe in the summer it's more lavish with flowers but in October most of them are gone. But that doesn't make it less beautiful and interesting.

    A Neglected Asset of Importance
Built 170 years ago for a World Expo, these are terrific mature gardens with a mix of French designed structure and English woods like gardens. A surprising number of non native species. Great river views. This was built to impress and it does. the Portuguese do not really understand marketing gardens as tourism assets. There are few labels, there is only one entrance which limits its utility as a through fare to the river and toilets are difficult to find.

    Peaceful gardens to walk around
Lovely rustic gardens to walk around. Lots of peacocks chickens etc happily wandering around. Okay not the most well kept gardens but just a beautiful place to walk around. When you get to the far end of the walk you can get some beautiful views over the river and looking towards Gaia. Didn’t seem massively over run with tourists either. Still too many people taking too many posed pictures in front of the actual views.

    Cultural gardens
Beautiful gardens. I came here alone and with friends several times. My favourite time to come, however, is doing Porto's bookshop fair. There are titles in multiple languages and the opportunity to meet several authors while discovering the beautiful gardens.

    Gorgeous Serene Park
This park was the most calming, beautiful place to visit on a hot day in Porto. It has many paths through the trees and flowers and offers stunning views of the Douro river and Porto. Various birds roam the gardens and the flowers are stunning. Take a picnic and enjoy a wonderful afternoon in a stunning setting.

    Peaceful gardens
Wonderful peaceful gardens. Great shade on a hot day, fabulous views and clean free toilets. We went twice to escape from the traffic and construction noise. Oh and peacocks parading - what’s not to like?

Been here the first time 2 months ago.
1. The place is easy to find on google maps. You just need to follow the direction. It is free to enter to the park.
2. The place is quite big.
3. You can walk around the arena with a beautiful view from the park. The park is so big and pretty. You can see some flowers and animals too.
4. They provide a tour for you to walk on top of the arena. You just need to contact the worker there. You can see Porto from the top of it. I am not sure how much you need to pay, I lost the paper.
5. They need to clean better in some parts of the park.
6. Wear your mask and keep a physical distance from other visitors.
7. The garden has many different parts for you to explore. There are many kinds of flowers that blossom. It looks so beautiful. You can find phoenix too if you are lucky.
8. This park is good to go for picnic with our kids.

This place looks a little strange but it's a hidden treasure. We took a look around it once & were pleasantly surprised. Apart from the cozy garden it has extensive grounds & a really spectacular view of the City & river.
Well worth it.

Such a beautiful park with birds everywhere. Peacocks strutting around the gardens with such grandeur. Gorgeous flowers everywhere. Sadly, you can't escape the disgusting cigarette smoke that permeates the gardens. I mean seriously, you can't wait an hour and smoke outside the park? Such a childish and vile habit!

Stunning views across the river, and welcome green area . The only entrances seem to be on R.do Dom Manual II , on the north side.
It’s an unexpectedly long walk around the outside if you walk up from the Ribiera district

Dominated by the ‘Dome’ which serves as an indoor entertainment arena, the gardens are beautifully maintained and provide plenty of places to lay in the shade, or use one of the many benches.
Inside the Dome you’ll find food and drinks to purchase.
There are some places to purchase drinks & ice cream outside. Some stunning views of the River Douro below are obtained from the gardens. You’ll also share the space with friendly Peacocks, chickens and other birds! It’s free to enter and wheelchair friendly.

Lovely gardens with a fantastic view of the Douro River, Porto and Gaia.
There are peacocks running around and they're really beautiful.
Great place for kids as they have a playground, lots of shadow, and benches to rest.
