It is not often that a train station is visited for the station itself but Sao Bento warrants a visit even if not travelling by train. The tiles and mosaics are beautiful.

Situated in historic Porto this terminal is an example of grandeur train travel of days long past. We visited the railway station just to see the wonderful tile murals and we were not disappointed. A must for anyone visiting Porto.

I wouldn't go out of your way but if you're in the area it's worth 5 mins to pop in and see the beautiful tiled walls

This architecturally striking building is a functioning railway station. The most interesting feature is the tiling in the main concourse depicting the history of Portugal. Very definitely worth a visit.

Well it’s stunning to look at, but it helps to have a guide to explain what all the painted tiles mean.. truely beautiful, but so many people in there that we were getting in the way of the commuters
