Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely Art Deco building on the otherwise unremarkable Placa Dom Joao I. I'm not a huge fan of this particular branch of the arts so I did not venture inside, but I know a beautiful and historic building when I see it. One with lots of character and charm too.

The theatre has an interesting architecture but it's a bit dated (low ceilings for hobbits?). the main room is beautiful and has a great acoustic. The theatre/cinema room in the cellar is claustrofibic. The undertage is simply cool!!. The cultural events are world class and many are suitable for foreigners withouth the knowledge of the portuguese language.

Built in 1913, it is a beautiful Art Deco theater. It's been renovated various times in the last 100 years but still retains its original character. Part of the reason to visit this part of the city which includes city hall.
