Maybe the holdest "lift" (ascensor) in the world moved by water. This lift takes you from the bottom of the stair case of Bom Jesus till the top of the Sanctuary.

This is a very good restaurant. And the view from here is just spectacular. Cone before sundown and experience the magic lighting of the city of Braga as seen from above.

The engineering was so innovative. This is a great five minutes of vertical tram experience. Be sure to take photos.

We went up on the Elevador but bought return tickets that we never used. The walk up, especially in the heat of summer must be rather "sweaty" because it is a long way. However, the walk down is easy and much of it is in the shade.

We used the elevator to go up to Bom Jesus do Monte. It saved us from walking up hundreds of steps. It was well worth the few euros!

The elevator does what it suggests so by all means enjoy the relaxing ride, but I didn't actually experience this if I'm honest. The walk is not as hard as it seems, and is worth the effort.

As we didn't fancy the walk up or down in the heat, the 2€ return trip is well worth the money. No views of anything, unless you are at the front. Health and Safety doesn't apply either!

It goes up, it goes down. It claims to be the only water-powered funicular in Europe, but we knof of at least two others. If you want to walk to stairs and are not a glutton for punishment, use the elevador!

This is one of the oldest funiculars in the country. It is water-powdered! You can stand in the small area in front, rather than sit in the cabin. It is a good experience.
