The guard at the entrance will charge you a euro to enter - its great value for money, the garden is so beautiful and well maintained.

Apparently this garden is not open to the public all the time, so we grabbed the opportunity to see it whilst walking into Funchal's centre. A real bargain at 1Euro entrance fee. You certainly can't complain at that! They have a really impressive display of...More

We arranged a tour here with History Tellers. This gives you the extra bonus of getting into the business section of government. Here we were given a walking tour of many rooms. There is quite a bit of history contained within (and on balconies) these...More

Small garden but beautiful. 1 euro to enter. Lovely well kept garden. Over looking the sea. Only takes about half hour to walk round. Well worth the euro! Don't miss it if you are in Funchal.

Lots of history attached to this place, it's been the home if several famous people. The grounds are worth a visit in themselves with magnificent views over the harbour. There's an aviary too. Inside is beautiful too, rather like a museum if Madeiran history.

the gardens of the palace of the president of Madeira are daily open and free to visit. I liked the formality a contrast to the more informal santa Catherina park next door also on avenida do infante.
