I explored Sintra for 4 days, and this was not my favorite place compared to the other but still very beautiful and with incredible views: warning the higher you climb the stronger the winds, so be careful! This site is not as well preserved, but...More

This was a serious workout with endless stairs but also amazing views of Sintra and a really fun time. There was an entire field trip of children during our visit and we were unbothered by them yelling cause the castle was so cool. You can...More

Went at the end of the day after a lot of walking. There is a few minute walk from the entrance to the fort and there are many stairs if you would like to climb to the top. Worth it, however. Bought a ticket for...More

I reluctantly went to this place quite early in the morning. I am so glad I did! The view is breathtaking, you see many other palaces from here and they have a live show on how Christians and Mouros used to fight.

If you want panoramic views of the area this is a must. Does involve some walking up there and once you enter the castle. Give about 2 hours to complete. We drove but lots of other transport up there available

We got the combined tickets with Pena Palace. It’s 400 metres to walk from the ticket office to the main castle entrance. Along the way you get to see the outer walls of the castle and a building housing artefacts from the site. The castle...More

We walked from the Pena Palace to the Castle of the Moors. It was a very interesting stop... It had to be an impressive fortification for its’ day. The views from the walls are worth the effort but it’s not for the faint of heart.

..not suitable for young children (<3 yrs). That's of course not the fault of this location but pushing a stroller up-and down pebble road is difficult. You can leave the stroller at the ticket office but then you have to carry the child up-and down...More
