Loved this place! Didn't get a chance to walk around the entire park as we had hiked up from Parque da Merendas bad that took a bit of time. You can get the bus from the train station for a tone trio directly to the palace and back which is only €5 but we hadn't k own that at the... More

This is one of the most beautiful castles I've ever visited. It is just exquisite, with breathtaking viewsfrom all angles, great for pictures. We only had 3 days in Lisbon and only did one excursion. Captivating story, too. You can bring back a souvenir to remind of you your time there. Do not miss it, even if you only have... More

Well worth the hike up to the top! The palace is brightly colored and once you've climbed up to the top the views are just incredible on a clear day. Take the tour inside as well - it is very informative and you get to see quite a bit of the palace, along with more of the fantastic views. I... More

Visited in January when it was misty and raining. Still queues winding there way through the Palace. We took the bus from the entrance to the Palace that was worth it for a few euros if it is raining or are a bit shaky on the legs. The Palace is stolid Victoriana meets bits of Moorish style and ascetic monastery.... More

An amazing palace with even more amazing gardens! Don't be afraid to start your trip at the lower entrance and walk past the four large ponds and up to the palace. Then onto the chalet...and if you get lost you see some amazing sites

I think Richard B's thorough review sums it up well. Word of warning. There are 3 main sites - Pena Palace, Sintra Palace & the Moors Castle & if your wanting to see all 3, make sure you get out there early, otherwise you will not see them all.

Marvelous place with a beautiful view to a valley. Unfortunately we didn't take warm clothers from the car cause on the top was very windy. The palace inside is wonderful. The exterior remainded me decorations for "Alice in wonderland".

We got here using the 434 bus, which was a bit busy and bumpy but a good price for the circular service. Some of the views of and from the palace are spectacular. It was sadly a bit rainy and misty when we visited, but I imagine the views would be breathtaking on a more clear day. A ticket also... More
