I suppose if you think of it in terms of human ambition it boggles the mind a bit that anyone would put the effort needed into building the crazy palace in the sky. You need to visit if you're in Sintra. I walked through the amazing Park up to the Moorish Castle and then up to Pena. It's a strenuous... More

This place is stunning and we had a great tour which gave us an insight into its history. There is a restaurant there which had wifi. Great views in all directions.

This is definitely the castle to see if you are visiting Sintra! The pictures don't even do it justice. The views, colors, and history is incredible. Lots walking when visiting but so worth it!

This was a very beautiful attraction and we were not disappointed. Not much to say other than go check out it and you will enjoy seeing it up close. Pay the 3 euro to take the bus to the top and back if you don't like hiking.

A very magical palace. The architecture is a combination of neo Gothic, Manueline, Neo Islamic and Neo Renaissance. This combination resulted in a very enchanting and surreal structure that is quite mesmerizing. Reminiscent of Dali's museum in Figueres, Spain Quite a hike up to this palace. Understandable that this is one of Portugal.s national treasure and a world UNESCO site.

Its a long treck up and down to this fantastic palace (buses and taxis are available) but it is well worth the walk for the building, groundsand views.

We visited the Palace and Park in Novemebr, tehre was not many people (probably due to teh weather). I recoment to walk up from Sintra - you will burn lot of calories ;-). In the Pena park you can take a bus up to teh Palace or walk (i recomend). Palace is very nice and you have great views. Must... More

This is right out of a fairy tale! I loved every minute we spent here despite it having heavy tourist traffic. It was quite easy to get lost in the beauty and detail of the palace coupled with having the option of a serene stroll the park. Only advice is this is not a stroller friendly site - we went...
