Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Medium-sized square a short distance from the north-west corner of Praça do Comércio, to which it is connected via Rua do Arsenal. Substantially pedestrianized, its flooring consists of the usual mosaics of light and dark tiles, in this case a complex composition based on triangles of various shapes and sizes (if you could see it from above you would appreciate it more). The east side of the square is occupied by the neoclassical façade of the nineteenth-century Town Hall building, while in the center stands the thin composite column of the Pelourinho. If you see the square from the Town Hall side you will be able to observe on the opposite side the succession of buildings that "climb" the hill that rises behind the square. There are no commercial establishments (apart from a bar and a kiosk which, at the time of our visit at 9 in the morning, was still closed), so the square has mainly administrative purposes, due to the presence of the Town Hall (and other public offices nearby), Under the square there is an underground car park: the vehicular and pedestrian access roads have been embellished with modern red iron installations reproducing highly stylized human figures. Overall it is a well-arranged and quiet square, but lacks any particular charm.

A very big open square where you will find some official functions such as the City Hall and a big post office where I come to mail my cards. Good service at the post office. The tourist information office is nearby. There is a kiosk in the square where you can order a cold drink.

Lovely Square to take in while walking through this historic area. Much quieter than other central areas but still with cafes/bars round about. Lots of history here and in the surrounding area. City Hall building is beautiful.

Praça do Município or Municipal Square is a cute little public square in central Lisbon. There's not an awful lot in the square to see except for a monument and column in the centre as well as the odd public sculpture. There's the usual array of cafes and restaurants on the square and there's a few important buildings such as the city civic buildings and the tourist office opposite, but otherwise don't go out of the way to see it.

This is one of the town centers in old Lisboa, a classic collection of special municipal buildings on a stone square. Some traffic. Come for the architecture and you will surely take photos.

The location of this square is off by 3km! Do NOT go here unless you want to go nowhere...
I have just got here and it seems the square is 3km away... close to where I was when I left :-)

In comparison with the Plaza of Commerce this square seems to be small but it's interesting. The city hall building looks great

Municipal Square is one of several small plazas in the Biaxa district in Lisbon. It is the location of the Neo-classical City Hall building, a charming Manueline style pillory column as well as traditional Portuguese style cobblestones that create a nice surface pattern throughout the square.
Most likely you will just be passing through the area in route to other designated sightseeing endeavours nearby. If you do happen to find yourself at Municipal Square, take a minute to enjoy the architecture, monument pillory and calcada portuguesa cobblestones for a few minutes before carrying onward.

We went to the post office here and admired the other government buildings around. This is a big open square very near the river, open, noble, lacking in traffic, and pretty.
