Nice clean play area with fountain water display. Sao Jorge castle is overlooking the park. There are some food and drinks stall where you can sit down relax and enjoy something. A pretty peaceful area.
Even so they spend time explaining the squRe and the surrounding houses, buildings to you. The real importance is this is where tram tours start and finish. I'd skip this area if you are not taking the tram.
There is nothing too special about Praça Martim Moniz itself. However, it is at one end of the Tram 28 route. Therefore, this is one of the best places to catch a ride on the famous tram.

Very busy square, well located, with good public transport servin it.
Lots of hotels, restaurants and bars serve the area, including the main square, that has small outside coffees to enjoy the weather.
