    Good experience but very hot
It’s a big food hall in Lisbon. Very busy and can be difficult to get seats for families , you have to edge in where you can and hope someone nearby moves. Some people stay a long time though. Lots of choice of food though fish places. Portuguese, fancy hotdogs, desserts, donuts, pastel de maya, various bars. It’s good and worth a visit. It’s very hot though and they do need to address this, we went in august. It was boiling but the many ceiling fans weren’t switched on, if there was some air on it was not adequate for the size of area and number of people. Can recommend the chicken satay from the Asian place- best I’ve had and the pastel de Natas.

    Great Food but Overcrowded
Great food choices but the crowds, waiting and seating are a challenge. Best to walk around and get the lay of the land before you decide on what to eat. Also better for someone to sit and hold seats while you buy the food/drink otherwise you might be standing with food and unable to sit.

    Be Prepared For Crowds
The Time Out Market is a great concept with a ton of different eateries to choose from but the crowds lessened the experience for us. You have a wide range of cuisines which is great but you won't be eating with your dining companions since everyone will be getting their meals all at different times. We went for lunch which worked out fine but not sure I would go for dinner if you want a more relaxed and not so chaotic scene. And finding a place to sit together may be a challenge!

This is a must if you are visiting Lisbon! Such a fantastic idea. There is literally something for everyone. This is such a great idea for dinner instead of your typical restaurant. The atmosphere at the market is brilliant. You can choose from an extensive variety of vendors - something for all tastes. We went to a few different places to try a few different dishes. There is also a full Aperol bar! Don’t miss this if you are visiting Lisbon!

    Crowded But Great Food
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this place, which was a Thursday night with my partner. We had croquettes at one of the booths, a steak, rice and eggs meal at another one before going to a final one for chocolate mousse with passion fruit sorbet. I can’t remember the names but they were to the right of the entrance. I recommend a visit, although it gets crowded at night. The Thai booth was the busiest.

Fun place to eat some great food
Fun place to find lots of different types of really well prepared food and drinks. Very busy in the evenings, so get there early if you want to find a place to sit. You will have a chance to mingle with people of all ages from all over the world. A truly unique experience.

Time Out good Lisbon gone downhill
Great place but extremely busy. Need to get there early! However the area around the back of the market has gone downhill in the last few years. Graffiti everywhere, rough sleepers, rubbish piling up, smelly and flies everywhere. But unfortunately that seems to some up Lisbon now. The whole city has gone downhill. Constantly being hassled to buy drugs, fake sunglasses and food I don’t want to it. It used be my favourite city in Europe but now is a place that I would never come back to.

Fun place to sample great food. It’s huge and you will find something you like!
I loved it. Crowded and lively. Lots of choices. Eat your own choices if you are going with others. You have everything there. Asian, American, Portuguese annd more and all sorts of extras. From gourmet food to junk food. (Big frosted colorful donuts and fancy hotdogs ). It’s inclusive. Prices are fair. Selection is huge. I had a codfish soup and a typical pastry. It’s communal seating. I had a good time. It’s a fun experience. I’d recommend it. It’s next to market that was ok. Near pink street. It was lunch and it was mobbed. But people are up n about so you can seat yourself quickly.

Great buzz in this amazing multi-outlet eatery!
This is an amazing place to visit - a real buzz! So many food outlets to choose from it was difficult to make a decision. I ended up with octopus which was ok but not outstanding. The highlight was the atmosphere rather than the food - but maybe we just made the wrong choices. Wine was delicious! Definitely worth a visit!

    Something for everyone
Well worth a visit. Prepare to be patient whilst waiting for a table at busy times (took us about 10-15 mins) or go early. I’d recommend finding a group of similar size who look like they’re about to leave. Grab a spot and then order some food. You’ll get a buzzer to return to the stall when your dishes are ready. Great fun and something for all tastes. Sushi was some of the best I’ve had (ever). Pizza was good and doughnuts and cheesecake were great. Would highly recommend.

When I first stumbled upon this place, four years ago, it seemed genuinely original and cutting edge. Loads of great Lisbon eateries under one roof, Sao Bento, Ground Burger, Sea Me, Daverro Gelato, Zero Pizza etc. Huge communal dining tables, reasonable prices, very cool. Now it just feels a bit stale. It’s rammed full of tourists who would probably find Frankie and Benny’s cutting edge, prices seem to have edged up and it means you overlook all the other great eateries popping up all over the city. Don’t get me wrong, all the individual establishments are great, and, as an introduction to what Lisbon has to offer, it serves a purpose. Just don’t have all your culinary experiences in there. There are more exciting, and cheaper places, just around the corner.

The Time Out Market is insanely busy! And I don’t believe there is a ‘quieter’ time to visit. We came one evening for our dinner and were really looking forward to it, especially hoping to try food from multiple vendors but it was just ridiculous.

It wasn’t necessarily the queue for food but the wait for somewhere to sit! We must have waited for at least 45 minutes before we found a place to sit. We found the trick is to hover/stand by a table and genuinely just wait until someone leaves. It’s not a very nice thing to have to do and it felt a little awkward but there was no other way to be seated. Sadly, they don’t offer outside seating which is a real shame and many of the people there stayed chatting and drinking after they had eaten so were in no hurry to leave.

The food we had was good, I went to Castro’s and had the cod fried balls with tomato rice for €9 which was excellent value! But we left pretty soon after eating because we felt guilty about hogging a table. My partner couldn’t be bothered to wait for food in the end so we went elsewhere. You also can’t take your food to go because everything is served on proper ceramic plates, I’d have happily had a takeaway bag if it was offered. You go to the individual vendors to order, they then give you a buzzer which will alert you when your food is ready.

It’s nice to have a little walk around in the day/evening and if you can get food there I would recommend it, but the wait for a table was just absolutely ridiculous and we left feeling rather frustrated at having to wait and then rush. They definitely need to address this issue as it isn’t fair for people going to eat to have to hover and wait for so long.

Really loved the feel of this food hall which is down by the waterfront in Lisbon. Great to have a wander around all the stalls and see traditional Portuguese food alongside other cuisines. We had some seafood spaghetti and a garlic and olive steak baguette which were both lovely with some reasonably priced beers. Pretty good prices at about 10-15 euros for a main but you could have more than that. Lots of bars about too.

Very touristy and hard to get a seat, but delicious food and a great atmosphere, recommend trying to go at non-traditional food times to beat the crowds.

We visited for lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon and were amazed at the choice available. We had delicious pea soup with croutons and shaved ham from one outlook and croquettes from another at very reasonable prices. The only drawback was in trying to find a seat. Seating is communal for all the kitchens and consists of benches for sharing. Okay for lunch but probably not great for a cosy dinner for two.

A nice contemporary market location where you can find a wide range of food to eat but the prices are quite high!
In my opinion, they should care more about the traditional one, it was a bit desolated but should be the heart of the market with fresh and genuine local food.
For lunch I tried the ‘prego’, a Portuguese sandwich with fried egg on the top and I’ve been impressed by the high quality. Served with fried potatoes or vegetables ones.
The hamburger meat left a very good memory on my mouth! Lovely!

Decor and atmosphere mostly geared towards trendy takes on Portuguese and international cuisines. Loud, crowded, expensive (especially for Lisbon). Nothing necessarily wrong with it but similar to many "food courts" all over the world. But you can find much more authentic and much less expensive food in other parts of Lisbon.

We’ve visited it following to a lot of admiring reviews: authentic Portuguese cousin & wines, atmosphere etc. Reality was a little different. First of all, overcrowded huge covered pavilion with three parallel passes about 100 meters long, IMHO, not typical Portuguese cosiness restaurant. A lack of ventilation lead to the lack of fresh air, too high indoor temperature as well. It’s uncomfortable, especially for people with some health issues. But a lot of kinds of authentic Portuguese meal were presented. If you decide to eat something, you must to stand a line; short or long- it depends of popularity of food. But to get something of food without standing in line so problematic. Due to circumstances noted above, I guess, it’s simply & easy to go to some little cafe or restaurants were many locals eating their meals. Locals couldn’t get fooled about it. They knew exactly, who is who and what’s good & what’s bad of public catering. But if you have a lot of time, curiosity, staying power & fortitude, of course, you have to visit this showplace.

Stopped at the time out market for lunch. While it was a pleasant experience, I find these marketplaces are all the same and have been to several including ones in Manhattan New York and Washington DC. Nothing really special IMO and I’d submit a local restaurant would have been as good and more intimate. I found the location crowded, noisy, and high prices. Worth checking out but so many more interesting, unique places to visit.

A great place to go when everyone wants something different to eat. It was very busy so we claimed seats as soon as they became available and then each person in our group went one at a time to order food. Each place seems to use a pager system to let you know when the food is ready. Each of us enjoyed our food, but nothing spectacular. This place definitely draws the tourist crowd. It you want a more intimate, quiet dinner with better food go to a local restaurant.

As a massive fan of the burgeoning street food scene in Cambridge I was really excited to visit the Time Out Market. It's effectively a big warehouse across the road from the main train terminal and if it's busy the noise hits you as you enter. It was busy so we had to look around for some space that could accommodate the 7 of us. Then you have the massive issue of deciding what to have. There was so much to choose from it was inevitable we would have to go separately to order but that was fine. I had a great gourmet burger from a restaurant I can't remember the name of. You get a buzzer to take away once you've ordered and when it buzzes you go and fetch your food. All the food we had was top notch as you would expect from the wide array of culinary talent available. Beer and wine are available from a central hub and are good quality. All in all very impressed.
