What a find! This museum has an extensive collection of puppets from across the world. All beautifully curated. What we loved was the history and how the puppets were displayed. Right up until animation for film. Fascinating! As I child I remembered 'Punch & Judy'....More

Never heard of a puppet museum before so though't I'd try something different. Took about an hour, would be longer if I actually had a real interest in puppets. Learn some new things (as I knew almost nothing before). I think they do puppet making...More

Very well organized with beautiful displays of puppets from all over the world. (I had no idea there was a difference between puppets from France and those from Belgium!) The audio guide was a MUST! It made our visit an enjoyable learning experience.

We went at 10am on a Sunday when entrance was free (until 2pm). We didn't see anyone else visiting. It only took 20 minutes or so for the small museum. The first set of rooms display puppets from around the world, starting with Indonesia. It...More

If you are in the area with kids, or even without, this would make for a pleasant, stimulating interlude. It is a small museum laid out on a single trail, so you have to backtrack to exit, but this only serves to reinforce the particular...More

The Lisbon Marionette Museum is one of those great little European delights. It's not famous, and it's a tad off the beaten path. But it's an excellently curated museum of world puppets and the lighting crew has done a first rate job displaying the puppets...More
