We spent a brilliant day with the Epic Surf School! I booked a half day beginners session for my partner and I, and were joined by 4 other beginners. The whole trip was very laid back and the team made our first time surfing very easy and relaxed. They were thorough with their teaching on the beach and gave us 1:1 support in the water. My girlfriend and I wanted to take a surfing lesson and I can only advise you to learn with those guys. Firstly, they are passionate about what they do: Rui is a lovely and honest guy who really wants you to spend the best time of your life. He picks you up at a meeting point and drives you to the beach where you will get a great lesson and price is reasonable (50€ each if there are at least 4 people and 70€ each for a private duo lesson). The beach is really big and waves were really good and the restaurant serves tasty and fresh food. Our instructor Zé was awesome. He spent some time explaining the basics to us before jumping into the water. We felt well prepared when we surfed the first waves and he was very good at teaching us and correcting our mistakes. I would definitely recommend anyone to surf with Epic Surf. We would go back again next time we are in Lisbon. Obrigado guys!…

I had a goal of learning to surf this summer and after doing quite a bit of background research I decided to go with Epic Surf School in Lisbon. The packages they offer were aligned with what I was looking for as a middle-aged adult with zero surfing experience - particularly, learning flexibly at my own pace. Rui (the owner) was very helpful in answering my initial email queries with clear and comprehensive responses. As soon as I met Rui and the other coaches at Epic Surf School I immediately felt at home. All the guys at the surf school are friendly, cheerful and laid-back characters. They are highly experienced coaches and local surfers. They really do know their stuff and they are always enthusiastic about passing on their wealth of knowledge to surfing novices like myself. I had individual coaching from Diogo. His expertise in coaching helped me to progress to a point that exceeded my expectations. He had a really positive and relaxed approach and was great at providing motivation and encouragement to overcome some of the challenges of learning to surf and progress. Thanks to Diogo, I feel confident in the basic surfing skills that I have developed and I have a clear idea of the way forward in terms of refining/reinforcing those skills and progressing my surfing when I return to the UK. It was a great holiday experience and I left with a real sense of achievement. I also met some great people from several countries who'd come to surf with the school. A very high proportion of the surfers I met had been before and were "regulars" at the school. I for one will also be coming back and I'm looking forward to my next opportunity to do so! With incredible disappointment I could not make the lessons due to Cov19 border restrictions, but throughout my booking they were exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. Refunded my deposit immediately as per the booking conditions with no questions asked. Will definitely book again once I can travel to Lisbon.…

I had a wonderful time learning to surf with Epic Surf School! We had a class of only 3 people, and the instructor took turns with each of us in the water. He was incredibly positive and encouraging and by the end of the day both my friend and I were able to stand up on the board! We started the day being super nervous but by the end of the lesson we couldn't wait to try surfing again :)…
