Just around the corner from Rossio Square, this little hole in the wall is famous for having been the traditional home for the drink they serve. Anthony Bourdain visited here when he came to Lisbon and was the reason I wanted to check this place...More

You just walk up to this little bar next to a hat store, and order a shot of the famous A. Ginjinha cherry liquor 1.30 Euro - or, you can order a whole bottle as our walking tour group did! Fairly strong stuff - over...More

Just a fun bar to visit, take your Ginja with or without the cherry, literally a hole in the wall. Try it - you'll like it!

(well, that too) But, this little hole in the wall bar is terrific. Lay down your 1.30 Euro (about $1.50) and get your shot of local culture. A medium sweet cherry liqueur, with a couple of small sour cherries (with pits) inside. We sipped for...More

One of the oldest dispensers of cherry liqueur shots. You have to have one in Lisbon. Beware the cherry in the bottom of the glass, mine was wincingly sour.

The crowds were moving in and out with small cups of cherry liquor no matter how early it is, both locals and tourists so I felt the need to see for myself what’s the all fuss about. You enter a small room where an old...More

The place is very nice and close to everything else. Perfect if you are passing by. The Ginjinha there is definitely the best in Lisbon.

A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site,
Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply
