I visited Solar do Vinho do Porto with a friend who was over visiting me and wanted to try it out. I will be perfectly honest I am not a big port fan so maybe the experience would be different for a connoisseur who could...More

So, you're at the famous overlook after having taken the Gloria up the hill. Turn around and find this place after looking at the view. Slow down and have a glass of port or two in a lovely, comfortable setting, before heading back down to...More

The reviews are somewhat true in regard to the waiters. It seemed they had a "superior" attitude towards the people who are ultimately paying their wages. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed the experience of tasting different ports in an amazing, almost library-like venue. This range was...More

The waiters are not overly friendly but polite. The setting is indeed old but I personally loved it. There's a huge amount of porto's to choose from and the combination with cheese is delicious. It was perfect to end the day quietly, before going back...More

I am not a huge fan of port, but a friend told me to stop in here. The options were varied and I think a good place to get something different than you might find at a restaurant.

Very cozy place with old bottles on shelves at the walls. We had 3 different port wines witch was a bit expensive, but they were all the money worth.

I visited the Solar for the first time about 9 years ago and then again shortly after. It was really nice, welcoming and a great ambience. Visiting it again this week I wasn't impressed, the service has definitely gone down. Not returning

"squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers
plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can
stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its
streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and
