This fabulous area has great architecture and squares, eating establishments, and shopping. It's easy to access and I recommend walking...it's the best way to see the entire area. If you get tired, cabs are fairly reasonable and can return you to your hotel.

If you can base yourself here you are going to have an easy time. Everything is within walking distance (bar the tile museum - which is a must) especially if you have only a few days. Couldn't be a better area.

Chiado District in Lisbon is famous among the tourists for shopping and relaxing, particularly at night time. There are many shops and restaurants around and the area is safe for wandering even at night time. Recommended.

This is mostly a shopping district. Some of the store fronts are very old (and well preserved), so you can get a taste of the Art Nouveau from days' past. However, the sidewalks are narrow and cobbled (like in much of Lisbon), so it's a...More

Yes they are, however like everywhere in the world "influenced by fast food chains" with a bit of local taste. as Portuguese i suggest you to go to Terreiro do Paço or Alfama areas to really enjoy Portuguese culture.
