The square is very broad and lined with touristy shops. it is however right in the heart of historic downtowntown. Plenty of photo ops.

While enjoying a post dinner cocktail at Nicola overlooking the square, we were surprised by the number of young people in black robes. We flagged down a few walking in hard hats and were enlightened that this is a Portuguese college students attire and there...More

Statues, fountains, imposing buildings are all located in and around this square that is covered in limestone (white) and black cobblestones in patterns. Can't wait to see the fountain at night.

Great large square in front of the train station. Lots of places to eat and watch the people go by. Have to be careful crossing the street though!

Was the center of medieval Lisbon. Center of activity, sorry to say, of the Inquisition and it's many tortures. Pedro IV statue here is very interesting. Another statue is of Gil Vicente, the Shakespeare of Portugal

earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its
name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in
Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the

If your question is in terms of security, I don’t think you should be concern. There are drug dealers but it’s not a conflictive area
