Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of the most picturesque streets in Lisbon, very steep and with an elevator street car to carry you up, when it is running. The pitch is so steep that is feels dangerous to walk either up or down. We did come to take photos, but we went over to neighboring streets where it is safer to climb or descend.

Be prepared for a steep climb, or steep decline, if you walk on this narrow charming street. The elevator, which is s cable car, was not working, so we had to struggle. But it was worth it as this is one of the best representatives of old Lisbon. Charming.

I took this ride plenty of times to go from cais de sodre into Barrio alto, you can save some energy and enjoy a short ride in a small and antique tram. Is usually crowed, but they the wait is not very long. Is defenetly worth it get a glimpse of the city, usually on the top there are some people drinking beer since it is really cheap. Make sure to ride in the front to get a perfect view of the narrow street. Great for instagram stories.

Scenic street that runs along the Bica funicular but which, like all the other funiculars, can also be explored on foot. It is certainly one of the most photographed locations in all of Lisbon, because in addition to framing the characteristic yellow carriages going up and down, from above there is a view of the Tagus in the background; as a further outline, the many people going up or down on the sides and the sequence of buildings sloping down towards the Tagus, with the wrought iron railings of the narrow balconies and the street lamps on the walls. Furthermore, unlike the streets of the other funiculars, in this one there are many more entrances to the houses and there are also several shops, so the street is also very popular with residents, giving overall, especially at certain times, a of a lot of vitality (sporadically, for short stretches, it is also crossed by cars that emerge from a side street and then turn onto another side street on the opposite side).
