We went to the museum on a very hot day to escape from the heat and were surprised to find such an interesting and well displayed collection which explored both the Royal influence on Cascais and the lives of the ordinary fishermen and women. There were very informative displays about sealife and a fascinating account of the Portugese king's interest... More

I've visited museum of the sea plenty of times when I was little and it still blows my mind. I think that it's a place to visit if you have small children or if you're a sea and ocean lover

Kept us all occupied with the interesting information and exhibits. Nice bit of Cascais history along with some marine biology. A good entry price too, would be double in the uk!

A lovely small museum that is very well laid out and if I remember about 3 euros entrance with concessions for children and the seniors. The displays are accessible and easily understood with each display supported with written explanations in Portuguese and in English and very interesting. With rooms devoted to the life of Cascais as a fishing community, shipping... More

This is a lovely museum which proved a definite hit with our 2 year old. The exhibits explain the history of the building, D. Carlos' marine expeditions, the local traditional marine industry, local marine life and there is also a section of marine fossils. There is plenty of mixed media to keep littl'uns interested. Our daughter loved peering through the... More

We went there with our son and loved it. It's a small museum that you can cover within an hour. Lots of work put into the displays. Great for toddlers. 3£ admission.

Nice museum about the sea around Cascais and Portugal, from the fish to the fishermen, dating from the 19th century.
