Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I used to come to this place since 15 years quite regularly. This year I had friends visiting me in Portugal. We went to Casa da Guia for lunch - best esplanada, superb view etc. What a dissapointment - food was truly bad, service absolutely terrible and plqce full of tourists that come once and never come back. Not even one Portuguese customer… I never have seen such a decline of standards in such a short time. Disaster.

We came across this lovely place by accident. Loads of great restaurants many with fab views right near the sea, also independent shops on site.

Lovely old manor house that as been converted into a multi functional place. Lots of restaurants, small shops and stunning views. About 40 minutes walk from centre of town along the coast.

Casa da Guia is a great place for a meal. You can choose from a kiosque (kiosk) selling hot dogs, or an Argentinian steak house that has an amazing patio looking over the ocean. There is my favorite sushi place LOVit and Paladar da Guia that serves fondue & delicious Portuguese chourizo that you grill at your table. We have not yet tried the fish restaurant Grelhaus. Casa da Guia also has a cute little garden store, several little shops inside the Guide House, a children's play area and a few tour operations. There is a MB (MultiBanco/ATM) right outside the main entrance.

If you come from Lisbon to Cascais for a day trip I'd walk all the way from the station via Boca de Inferno to Casa da Guía. It's a great place for quick (or not) lunch, locals come here to dine because there are a few very good restaurants. You can rent a bike and ride all the way to the Guincho beaches (don't forget to take your jacket with you because it's always extremely windy in this area).
I come to Casa de Guía almost every morning to drink my first cup of coffee enjoying the sun, the ocean and the greenery (because there are pine trees and many other trees and bushes I don´t know the name for).
There is a beauty saloon, a pharmacy (specialised in beauty products), tabacaria (selling newspapers and magazines from all around the world), small bookshop selling antique books and a few clothes shops.

This is a lovely old manor house on the cliff edge converted into a shopping eating destination. Good selection of restaurants and some nice shops

This is a fun place, right by the ocean. You can just have coffee or have a nice meal. Many restaurants to choose from and a few shops, including a very nice place that sells good plants, including succulents.

The view is nice, the shops are a let down. It's a bit run down as well. Check that the cafes take cards before you order.

Have some coffee, tea and pastries at this cafe, high above the ocean, and enjoys the great views. Also, there a number of small shops and an old house there.

Nice place to go for a walk away from Cascais along the coast.
There are plenty restaurants and some nice restaurants. But have in mind if you go out of the meal time, there is not much to offer and it's very difficult to find someone that serves you any food. The service in some bars could be better.
