Lovely church located across the cathedral in old town. Missing it while in the erea would be a big mistake. Keep in mind that this a great place to pray and not just take pictures.

There is no shortage of beautiful churches in Portugal. Misercordia is at the top of the hill and adjacent to a visitors center. As always, go inside!

It's interesting to see these two massive churches opposite each other with total different architecture.

Church dating from the eighteenth century. Together with the cathedral and the Grão-Vasco Museum, they surround the magnificent "Adro da Sé". The interior of this church is simple but harmonious. Through a side door to the church you can access the Mercy Museum of Viseu

You can see it from almost everywhere, and together with the Se (just opposite it) it really marks the Viseu skyline

The museum is spread over a number of floors at the special exhibit at the time we were there was themed chess boards. The religious artefacts are interesting and the church is quite beautiful.

This is slightly younger structure from the 1800's. This is right across from the cathedral. Not very grand but worth to see as well.
