Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I though that I knew everything about cheese: I was wrong ! It's a small museum but we learn a lot about Serra da Estrela cheese - from the milk to the final product ! For instance I learned something very important - that there is no validity for cheese and that we should not keep it in the regrigerator!

Museu is very small. Got some history about how the cheese is done. Get to taste 3 types at the end but the entrance fee of 5€ is not worth it.

Really nice museum showing details about sheeps and Serra da Estrela cheese production. Guided tour worth it, average 30 minutes with cheese tasting in the end. A local cheese shop has good cheese for good price.

Difficult to get there, poorly marked. Just couple of rooms with old shepherd's stuff. Not even good effort to recreate true cheese making conditions. If you're Portuguese or fluent in portugues you might enjoy the little bits of history and definitely passionate guide/worker who unfortunately completely ignored us as English speakers. Only thing in English you'll find there is a tickets price list.

In this little museum you'll find out how the delicisou Serra da Estrela cheese is made. At the end you get a tasting, too. At the store next door you'll find regional products at very reasonable prices. Personally, I alway make a stop there whenever in the area.

A very interesting and accessible museum about the ethnography, fauna and flora of the region and above all about the cheese-making process. But the most captivating thing was the engaging explanation given by the guide Paula Morais, tireless in her attention and availability. On a late Friday afternoon, there was no rush until after closing time! Well done! We will definitely return!

The museum, despite being small, is very rich in characteristic objects related to cheese. Paula, responsible for the museum, takes us on a journey as if we were there decades ago, I recommend the experience
