Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I'm not sure how this "park" even reached the top 20 to do list in Coimbra, but it's a complete scam. The atractions are in decay, dirty, fountains in desperate need of new water. The only lesson that I could teach my daughter is about capitalism: you can charge full price for a ticket and have 30% or less of the atractions open.

The tour is of a modest number of concrete buildings. The majority have QR codes to scan for information with their app - but that app “wasn’t available in our region” (US) so there was little information.
In total we spent only 20 minutes in the park and found it to be one of the more disappointing experiences in Portugal. At 14.95/ per ticket wasn’t worth the stop.

Portugal dos Pequenitos is a place out of our time. It was built around 1940 when the dictator Salazar organized the famous "Portuguese World" exhibition in Lisbon to rebuilt the idea of Portuguese colonialism. At that time, the regime propaganda spread the ideology that there was only a Portugal from "Minho to Timor," and the colonial territories became Portuguese provinces. This park for children was meant to teach these ideas. Therefore, one can observe miniatures of the main Portuguese monuments -- Belem Tower, Jeronimos, Batalha, Univerity of Coimbra, etc. -- along with showcase pavilions of all Portuguese colonies from Angola to East Timor. Despite the chance of these pavillions to places for independent Portuguese speaking countries, the old colonial odor is still around. Moreover, the area has not any good restaurant or primary amenities, trying to sell what is old and odd. My kids didn't enjoy it after taking some pictures in miniature houses from Alentejo. We won't return.

This place is absolutely hilarious, it was built during the fascist regime and you can clearly tell, it’s extremely neglected, maintenance is an absolute disgrace, they probably haven’t done any since the fascist regime 😂 the people who give this place a good review have probably never traveled anywhere. Either way, it’s great for having a laugh, if you are cultured and know your history about fascism, this is an absolute gem, it’s like traveling back in time, everything is absolutely nationalistic and racist as anything during the fascist regime was, there is a statue of the founder of Portugal trampling Arab people with a text which reads “children, remember this figure and this ideology” 😂 it also has dolls with a beard which were used for depicting famous Portuguese people from history 😂

This is a great place to take kids - especially Portuguese kids. Its a bit like an historic theme park without any of the thrills. There has been a lot of effort in setting it up and the miniature buildings are remarkable in their detail and the ability to wander around inside them. However there is a minimal of interest inside each place except for a few dated artefacts or an outdated video. The entry fee was a shock, given that you can buy lunch for about half the price of an adult entry. If you have kids and they want to learn about the Portuguese version of world discoveries, then its a great way to spend a few hours. Otherwise, I can't really recommend it.

Very expensive tickets, €16.00 per person, badly maintained, ita a Little Portuguese want to be Epcot centre, but falls short. The lakes/fountains don't work everything needs tlc and is not getting it...a fraud for the price; €5.00 would be more adequate

We visited this park to pass sometime on a “not a beach day” kind of day. I had very low expectations, you can maybe kill an hour here. My six year old lost interest fast, not really engaging and half the houses and windows were closed which is not ideal. There’s a wee train that you can take but otherwise didn’t hold the attention of my six year old for long and I didn’t relish having to explain about ivory trade and why there was an elephant foot. For the price I would totally give it a pass, to echo what others have said it seems to un-ironically celebrate colonization which is a bit cringe worthy.

We take our grandchildren to P dos P every time they come to stay and it never fais to deight. The workmanship to scale depicting so many of Portugals notable buildings throughout the world is very good indeed. The cinematic show (even though it is in Portuguese) is easily followed by all and worth watching. Each time we visit more buildings have been renovated and are open to view. The children love beiing able to get right inside so many of them.

Was a great day in Coimbra for my oldest son who like it very much.
Some souvenirs are also interesting. Do suggest for around 2 hours.

A vérifier
Merci

Buen viaje

How can one get here? Is public transport an option? Or are there Day trips from Porto or Lisbon?
Written 30 April 2017
Portugal dos Pequenitos is in Coimbra and is a representation of Portugal with miniature monuments and portuguese typical houses. Coimbra is 200 km from Lisbon and 100 km from Porto. If you are flying to Portugal, you need to go to Lisbon or Porto airport and then take the train (Alfa pendular or Intercidades) to Coimbra-B or rent a car at the airport. Portugal dos Pequenitos ir very very near from the city center and 5-10 min walk from the train station Coimbra-A (take a connection at Coimbra-B). You can as well take a taxi at Coimbra-B. I visited a lot my grandfather when he worked as a carpenter in Portugal dos Pequenitos and going there as a grown up did not lose the magic.
