Take a colourful boat ride (barcos moliceiros), traditionally used to harvest seaweed, along the canals. Well worth it. As well as a Tuk Tuk ride around town, also well worth it. Have a late lunch at a little busy restaurant "O Merchantel". Great food, great...More

We started our daytrip in Aveiro with a boattrip, which immediately gave us a good overview of the city. The old part of the city with the salt warehouses and the new part of the city with the very nice and modern buildings.

Many companies offer tours along the canals, but if you're going, you should definitely choose this one. From the lady on the promenade selling tickets to the boat crew, everyone is just lovely. Our guide was really great, juggling explanations in both English and Portuguese...More

We had an enjoyable tour of the Aveiro canals. Our guide was able to tell us about the history of the canals, the flat bottom boats, and surrounding area and buildings, making sure everyone received the information in their language of choice.More
