This is the oldest cheese factory in Terceira and it was supposed to be possible to visit the factory, but it's not. You may taste the different cheeses produced there and watch a small part of the factory through a glass.

Foodie Alert: Entering the eatery, varieties of cheese greet you with friendly signage and aromas. Tasting around the melt-in-your-mouth velvety cheeses, we learned that we were standing in the island’s oldest traditional cheese factory, and were sampling their traditional cheeses “Queijo Vaquinha da Ilha Terceira.”...More

This is a gem! The cheese makers are so friendly. You get to taste all four cheese types made at this artisanal factory. Drinks are reasonable and are accompanied by a fantastic cheese platter.

You can't really see the cheese being made, but the samples were yummy. Buy some cheese and have them cut it and bread, along with the fig sauce to dip it in for a nice snack.

We passed here during a trip around the island. It was a nice tavern with some different kinds of cheese. The cheese was pretty good, we got some for free with our drinks. We would have liked to be able to see the factory itself,...More
