With 24 years of Futurismo Azores Adventures behind us, we are proud of our reputation for excellence in active tourism in the Azores archipelago - Portugal.

Futurismo is now the largest active tourism company that offers a variety of packages of sea and land activities throughout the Azores archipelago year-round whale and dolphin watching tours, swimming with dolphins, hiking tours, bicycle tours (MTB and road bike) and jeep and van tours.

We run tours for people who like to experience the islands while aiming to immerse themselves in our culture and heritage, tasting traditional food and drink, learning about the wildlife of the islands and appreciating the authentic landscapes away from the crowds. We aim to be a responsible tour company and encourage sustainable work practices in all aspects of our work.

Our company operates tours daily, as well as standard packages or tailor made packages for single travelers, groups or families. We also organize all land arrangements needed during your stay.

Our professional and friendly team includes multilingual guides and staff eager to share their passion for these beautiful islands. Our aim is to utilize our expert knowledge of the nature and landscapes of the Azores to create unforgettable experiences for our clients, often tempting them back to discover more!

Excellent experience, the weather was not ideal, very rough. The wind got up earlier than forecast so not a long trip but I thought it was almost worth paying for the trip in the zodiac even if there had been no whales! But they did find some fin whales for us. My husband had been whale watching before from Seattle... More

First trip: Whale watching 2 hour trip to see whales and dolphin. Went on the bigger boat as not keen on water. Saw a few animals both whales and dolphins. 55€ for the experience. Second trip: Sete Cidades walking tour Was a really good experience walking around the crater. About 12km walk. Glad I opted for this rather than a... More

Our first whale watching holiday to fulfil a lifelong dream. We saw a fin whale on each of our trips and dolphins playing in the bow wave of our catamaran. There had been a blue whale sighted by other boats which we unfortunately missed. However, we were not disappointed as the sea is a big space and it wasn't for... More

We went out whale watching with them for four consecutive days, that is all of the days during our week that they were sailing. We saw at least one whale, always a fin whale on each trip. We saw dolphins on two of the days. There was talk of blue whales and sperm whales but we were told that they... More

This was a 3.5 hr trip. We saw one fin whale 3 times which was Unfortunate as the previous day they had had such a good trip. Quite a few people were sick, and I have to say the staff were fab with them. On our return trip we did see some dolphins for about 5 minutes. It seemed unfortunate... More

Very professional team, always checking if clients are OK and enjoying the boat trip. We could see 6 whales on the same day.

Very professional outfit which meant they cancelled our first two days whale watching. Finally we got out on the Friday on both the catamaran and the zodiacs and saw blue whales, fin whales, sei whales and humpback whales. We would recommend taking sea sickness tablets as a lot of people were sick on the catamaran. Also we would recommend the... More

A lifetime dream come true. We saw 3 blue whales and common dolphins. The rib experience is not for the faint hearted or photographer seeking the best shot- probably better to choose the catamaran but we got so close to the wildlife it was worth the bumpy ride. The company is very professional with marine biologists as guides and a... More

We went out with this company on a Whale watch, the boat was ok, the Portugese Staff doing the talking, were very hard to understand when they were speaking for the English speakers amongs us. We did see dolphins and false killer whales right next to the boat, which was a nice experience, but a little pricey for 3 hrs.
