Nice small park in the city of Furnas with geothermal springs. If you are in São Miguel, it's a must.

This place is a must to see. Stinks of rotten eggs but so worth the visit. Just to see the volcanic bubbles is awesome.

Furnas has gardens, hot springs, restaurants, lagoons, hiking, strolling, picknicking and pleasant town center. No shortage of ways to enjoy this area. Everything is close by car.

I was enthusiastic about Furnas; a big volcanic lake, a beautiful botanical garden with thermal lake, forests, wild birds strolling among visitors to ask for food, nice restaurant, volcanic phenomena in many places (release of steam and hydrogen sulfide), strange rivulets, ferruginous waters, there is...More

This is one of the most renowned tourist places in the Island, though It's not my favorite. Thermal springs, resorts and the beautiful Terra Nostra garden are worth a visit.

Wonderful place to be and see if you're a nature lover. Beautiful lake and surrondings. Must try and enjoy the local food; "Cozido das Furnas", Boilled vegetables and meats on a ground vulcanic crater.

The warm natural pools were very relaxing. The gardens are beautiful. Well worth the trip. It was a little difficult to find, the entrance is a small gate that looks like the gate to a residence. The large pool water is orange and can stain...More

The lake at Furnas is huge, the surrounding areas are green and lush and the miradouro on top offered some impressive views. Did not see much from the village as I was passing through, but the hot springs should also be given a try!
