This beach with black sand is just incredible. We went there on a really windy day, with some extremely large waves kicking in. Good thing the life guards where on duty.

I think Porto Pim is nicer as a beach, due to the whole sorroundings, but this beach is quite beautiful and less crowded!

Stunning views across to Pico in a charming bay. Had a drink at a very uncharacteristically modern but nice restaurant by the sea.

A refreshingly different menu, well-presented and very tasty food, nice ambience, and a stunning view looking out to Pico. Not cheap - but well worth a visit!
