Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We biked here and it is such a stunning scenery along this cost. It is easy to go around here on bikes and recommend to not follow blue and green marked tracks. They are more suitable for walking. Had a nice waffle here before we continued along the cost.

The obvious attraction of this spot is the location - quite literally the end of the (known) world for the early Portuguese explorers.
The cliffs are impressive, with an unimpeded view of the vast Atlantic Ocean, though more impressive cliff views and sea caves can be had further east along the coast such as those near Ferragudo and Benagil.
The lighthouse dominates the cape; within its walls is a restaurant and small museum.
Pay Toilet facilities are available. Ample roadside parking on the access road outside.
A good add-on stop while in Sagres.

The concept of being at the SW corner of Europe is cool. The visual experience, however, was disappointing. The fortress is simple with little to see except a few cannons and steps to a higher point. The views are of a non-descript coastline, frankly boring compared to Ponta de Piedade a few miles away. I'm glad we went but I would not go back.

If you are in the Algarve this picture spot is worth visiting but keep your expectations in check. 10 to 15 minutes may be enough at this spot so I suggest a plan to visit some other beaches, sites or towns on the west end of the Algarve.
For our visit we had read the lighthouse is opened to the public on Wednesday afternoons. We planned our visit for that time but it was not open. Being able to enter the lighthouse and to see it from the other end would have probably made this experience better.
However we are thankful that it was a beautiful day, got some good pictures and visited one of our favorite beaches about 5 minutes away to called Beliche.

I loved this place.
First of all because there wasn't anyone. It was more isolated and we were surrounded by nature. Also, the views are spectacular.

Huge, wonderful, powerful. In Portugal this is a traditional site to be visited, but it is much more. It is the remembrance of old times of adventures and long days crossing the Atlantic Ocean, it’s fantastic to walk along the rocks and hearing the roar of the waves.

Amazing views over the Atlantic and the coast of Portugal. The lighthouse grounds were nothing special but contain toilets and a coffee / souvenir shop. The main reason for coming here is the views and landscape

I was thrilled to be at the unique spot on earth. And it was beautiful.
With the wind blowing and the sea I tried to imagine how those early explorers (and exploiters) felt as they departed the known world.
The lighthouse area has many impressive overlooks and there is a walkway, but time didn't allow for me to explore it.
There is a small gift shop and a restaurant at the lighthouse. There are public restrooms but there was a long line so I don't have a report.
I bought some postcards and got a souvenir Euro from "The End Of The World".
