The idea behind this exhibition is to get people acquainted in a more attractive way with important landmarks of Portuguese history that are linked to Lagos itself to some extent. The wax statues of historic personalities are just means to this end. We appreciated the...More

Interesting little museum. A lot of Portugal's history and I learned a lot. The wax figures are well mantained and the panels with text were easy to read and well written.

I'm not sure what I was expecting but this did feel more like a museum than a wax works. It takes you through a history of Portugal from about the 14th-18th centuries. There's a LOT to read and, because the English isn't perfect, you do...More

Very limited but it does give a potted history of the area. Something to do if you have a couple of minutes to spare. Staff on the desk are quite solemn so don't expect to be greeted with a smile!

At the North end of the Marina this is a very informative place and has waxwork dummies of the famous Portugese kings and explorers. Also maps to show where they got to. Only 3 Euro to get in and well worth the visit.

Not exactly Madame Tussauds . A very interesting attraction detailing the great age of Portuguese discovery, Good value at €6 per adult . It took us about an hour from start to finish.

Great history lesson and sound effects. Wax works were just mannequins dressed in period costume. Worth a visit if you have an interest in the development of relations between england and India.
