Nice sculpture situated in the center of Lagos is a sight-seeing. I may say is an imposing sculpture.

worth a visit. Unusual expression. It was messy when I first saw it on 26 Dec. Glad to see the council cleaned up the graffiti very soon afterwards.

Located in one of the main walking areas of the historic part of the city, near lots of shops and restaurants. There are a number of statues scattered about in this part of the city.

Read up on it so you know what it represents. Nice area for a look. We stopped here on our push bike tour. Saw some most interesting tourists milling around. apparently socks and sandals are okay to wear out in public. And no shirts are also fine.

It's an odd statue in the middle of a smaller, more entertaining square. But I guess it works as it adds to the town's quirks and entertainment factor. There are quite a lot of shops, cafes and restaurants surrounding the square so it's definitely a good spot to chill and relax in and just watch the world go by.

I lived in Lagos when they erected this in the 80's we scratched our heads then and still do! It's fun and a talking point..

This stands in the busy square, surrounded by shops and cafes,it is a very odd looking statue, there is no explanation of who it represents I found this out after purchasing a guide book, apparently the locals don't like it.People use it as a seating area to listen to the street musicians.

Excellent square for relaxing. Grab an ice cream, listen to some street musicians and pose in front of this 1973 statue of one of the most iconic Portuguese kings - Dom Sebastião - who went missing in actrion in the battle of Alcácer-Quibir in 1578. We Portuguese are still waiting for him to return and bring greatness to Portugal again... More
