Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A really nice beach which can be reached on foot from Lagos city center, it took me around 30 minutes. It was not that far. This beach has been chosen as one of the most beautiful beaches of the world but my friend who is a local told me that 2 years ago they made the beach wider by putting more sand where the sea was (probably to accomodate more people) and therefore a lot of its natural beauty was taken away. For this, I found the Camilo beach more beautiful. Also be careful, the beach was so full of shells it hurt to walk on the sand. Better bring flipflops! There are many rock formations which you can explore on the sand to the right side when you are facing the sea. Kinda discovering new small beaches.

The other day we visited the picturesque Marinha beach - which is incredibly pretty, but with quite a few sharp stones in the water.
Praia Dona Ana - 15 minutes walk fra Lagos city - is just as spectacular as the famous Marinha, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and turquoise water and covered with soft sand.
The good thing about Dona Ana is that there are no sharp objects in the water, just lovely sand. You (and your kids?) are gonna love this beach.
There are easy steps down from road level to the beach. Not dangerous at all.

Its a nice beach, with scenic cliffs around. Unfortunately it is not very big and very popular so it was a bit crowdy. Nice kiosk at the bus stop, but the cafe/restaurant on the beach was expensive and not the best experience (staff friendly though).

The beach and the views are simply gorgeous. By far one of the best beaches i've been to. The water was chilly despite being june. The little restaurant on the beach is perfect to grab a drink while soaking in the sun. To the right side (whilst facing the water) are gorgeous rock formations waiting to be explored.

Admittedly we stopped here but did not go down to this particular beach. It’s a great beach though. Very large and lots of space to move around. With cliffs all around (as is the norm in this area), the views are wonderful. It’s a close to the center of town so very accessible but is busier than the more secluded and smaller beach options farther south.

A postcard landscape if you can imagine it without people. In the middle of August, it's packed with people but what a view! Cliffs, rocks in the sea, it's a breathtaking landscape. On the small beach on the right, it was full of seaweed and there was no one, on the large beach on the left, where there are the parasols, a lot of people in this season. We were with a guide, so we only had a 10 or 15 minute stop to admire the scenery from above, but you have to see it.

This beach was our "front yard" during our stay in Lagos. It is easy to walk down to and there is a place at the bottom that sells food. I have knee issues, but I had no trouble walking to the bottom and getting to the top if I took my time going up the steps. The flora is beautiful and there were great spots to take different photos. A few people meditating and running in the early morning. Loved it!

Reading the reviews I had a lot of expectations. Unfortunately I didn't really appreciate this beach. Large presence of algae that give off a very strong smell. High concentration of midges. Waters not exactly crystal clear, perhaps also for the considerable number of boats and people who crowd the beach in this period. Perhaps at another time it is definitely more enjoyable. For me it was an average beach but nothing more.

This beach is overrated. We went in July and naturally the beach was rammed, there was no shade left. The sand is quite course and the sea has lots of seaweed. There's much nicer beaches in the Algarve. The cliffs are really beautiful though.

Came many times. Was in October and November so was quiet. At times felt like it was a private beech. Sand quite course but wonderful all the same. Looking out at the rock outcrops could have been on Scaramanga’s island bolthole (for non James Bond fans, mean Krabi, Thailand). Rustic restaurant in the far corner serving very simple food and cold beers.

How busy is this beach right now? We are arriving in a few days and just curious what to expect as far as crowds.

He can walk, but must obtain patience and comfortable shoes because there and back, I think it will add just under 10 km.
I have not ever traveled on foot, because despite being Italian resident in Portimao, I always went by car.
