Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

To be fair this prime locational spot advertises as a Bar; which doesn’t pretend to be a restaurant. The food is pretty average and the service is chaos without a memory.
Bookings are essential but there seems to be some sort of code or request to ensure you get a table close to the bar with a view over the water. People inadvertently seated near the bar were asked to move when other patrons rocked up, who had obviously requested the tables.
At first we thought these tables were for those needing to boost their self esteem on instagram, and as a reward for not honestly reporting the food quality, the location itself would sell itself on their posts.
We went here for dinner and that was our mistake. The golden rule of dining is to play the odds on tourist locations and stay away from any restaurant on a tourist hub or at an iconic beauty spot. 9 times out of 10 you win. This was not to be our 1 out 10 occasion
The best way to visit this bar is to treat it as a bar with poor bar food. Go with that expectation, lower your food spend budget and order basic. Even though the Angus Burger looks like a tyre tube between a stale roll, you won’t be any worse off than the more expensive fish and grilled prawns we ordered.
The setting is casual and relaxed and if being seen to be at this bar is more important than actually experiencing the service, then go and enjoy yourself.
It’s fun enough just being caught up in the self posing hilarity of the esteem hunters.

We came here again after great experiences and were not disappointed. It's a lovely way to spend an evening, easy walking from carvoeiro, beautiful sunset en route, quirky and unique location, food is good at worst and great at best. Anything you can grill really. I found all the staff to be great once again this year, they are all young and I think work well in a very busy environment, they cope great. The cave and rocks are fun for kids and adults alike. I think it's a special place, when all things are considered. Nice walk back to carveiro, little dance in the square, kids and adults all happy! Whats not to like! You must book in the evenings or you'll have a long wait or a wasted walk.

Take the right side staircase and go down. On the rock there is a sign that says a Boneco. It is a short walk through the cliff to the opening. Great photo spot .

Fantastic views in a great location with great grilled fish. Very relaxing dinner with the family before heading north to Lisbon and then America.

Lovely setting in the rocks and looks beautiful at night with the lights, but the food is way overpriced. Young staff who on the whole were attentive but got the impression they were a bit aloof. The squid rings to start were just frozen battered squid rings that any supermarket would sell. The spare ribs were just that. My partner piri piri chicken left a lot to be desired, hardly any meat on the bone at all. Main course sea bass although was quite nice was about 26 euro. A very expensive not value for money meal, would not recommend.

Our family have been coming hear for years for lunch and dinner, and always recommended friends and family to visit. Location is amazing, food very good, but unfortunately recently very disappointed with the service and how rude one in particular, and very shocked to hear other friends had the same experience . If he is not happy in this job he should leave.

Had not been for a few years and glad to see it is still as busy post covid times. Gets very busy so advisable to book before having to climb back up all those steps.

Great situation at one end of the boardwalk, handy for visiting the caves and blowhole too. Only had drinks this visit, but they were getting busy for lunch (coals heating on the barbecue) and the menu looked good.

At the start of the boardwalk along the Algar Seco it is well worth taking a trip down to view A Boneca. We only had to queue for a relatively short time but I suspect that in the baking heat of summer it would be almost unbearable.
