Lovely for a leisurely stroll along the coast. Great views of the sandstone cliffs and coastline. The Broadway takes you through the coastal scrubland and fauna without feeling your dangerously close to the edge. Not overly good for wheelchair access although we did see a wheelchair chair user so parts of the walk could be accessible.

One of the highlights of our visits to Carvoeiro is walking along the boardwalk at night. The views day and night are breathtaking. As visitors to Carvoeiro for over 25 years we love this addition and always take time out to walk it several times a week. My wife and family love the place so much. Love the town, love the boardwalk, can’t wait to retire and live there.

I was suggested by the staff at O Castelo Guest House to take the boardwalk for a easy and short glimpse of the coast. The boardwalk is easy and well lit during any part of the day in flip flops or tennis shoes. Very enjoyable for all abilities.
I decided to get up early to watch the sunrise and hike to the Alfanzina lighthouse. At each beach, cave, and stop along the trek it became more beautiful. Recommend hiking shoes when you leave the boardwalk since you can literally walk the edge of the cliffs.

The Lagoa cliffs are amazing for hikers and adventurers, but not accessible to those with walking difficulties. Carvoeiro Boardwalk, on the other hand is a much easier walk, with beautiful views. I liked to go at night with headphones and sit and look at the lights reflected in the sea. For those who like climbing their are paths leaving the wooden platform to explore the cliffs, and at the car park end there is an entrance to the long cliff walk that goes out to the lighthouse.

The boardwalk is an easy stroll along the coastline (once you have climbed the hill to get there out of town!)
The views are excellent especially at sunset. There are places where there are steps to access the caves below and these detours are highly recommended as there is so much to see down there.
At the end of the boardwalk we carried on to explore the cliff top paths. These are easy to follow but can be difficult underfoot. Decent footwear (trainers) recommended rather than beach footwear.
If you follow the paths as far as the Tivoli Hotel you can then have an easy roadside stroll back to town.
For the more adventurous you can carry on past the hotel to the lighthouse - warning, this is far more strenuous but very rewarding.

This is a lovely walk that’s only a 5 mins walk from the town centre, albeit at the top of a steep hill. by a church. The board walk meanders safely on the cliffs overlooking the sea. After the ten mins or so walk the best option is to cross the road and have a drink at Algar Seco resort.
Afterwards you can either return the same way, or go on the road, and go down restaurant hill, back to the town centre.

Carvoeiro is a very sweet beautiful village and close to many tourist attractions. This boardwalk is absolutely beautiful and offers amazing views of the sunset and the rugged coast line of the Algarve! A beautiful restaurant is nestled right below the boardwalk!

To walk on the boardwalk you first have to walk to it which includes a walk up a steep hill out of Carvoeiro but well worth the effort.
We are in our 70's and managed it with stops to admire the views, (really to get our breath back)
It maybe takes 30 minutes to walk it but with plenty of sitting/ viewing areas can take a couple of hours.
Nice cafe at the end but not always seats to be had.
Someone told us to continue the walk beyond the boardwalk a 9k stretch of beautiful coastline but the going was very treacherous had to give it up after half an hour, did the same stretch of coastline by boat, fantastic trip even went inside some of the caves we had walked over.

We completed this walk in about 15m, so it's not long enough. The views are amazing, but the walk over the cliffs in the other direction are more organic and far longer.
However, this suits older and more infirm people, whilst the other walks require a certain level of fitness and sensible shoes, such as trainers.

This is a fabulous local resource and we used it several times during our stay. It is about 10 minutes from end to end if you march but there are so many steps down to little coves you can easily spend an hour or two along this stretch. There are also several benches and seating areas so you can just take in the view.
The route goes from a small church just above the town beach to a small car parking area. After the car park you can carry on walking towards the lighthouse along the coast but we never got that far (about a further 3k).

Salve a tutti volevo sapere se la passerella era percorribile anche in carrozzina o ci sono gradini? Grazie a tutti
Written 2 September 2018
Una buona parte si può percorrere anche in carrozzella. Ho trovato solo due gradini, ma sono convinto che a lato ci fosse lo scivolo

Is the board walk near biai Cristal hotel please, if not how far away is it.
Written 25 August 2018
I’m not sure. If you walk up the street to the cliff on tne left side of Carvoeiro Beach, you will get to the boardwalk.

Hello,
It has steps onto and off of it at certain points but they aren’t long flights of steps so it would be fairly easy to lift a buggy onto it.
It is then made effectively of decking wood so would be a bit of a bumpy ride, but I have seen people walking with buggies and wheel chairs previously.
Cheers
