Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

They'll love it! Go early to the Far East end of fisherman's beach, around 9am and see the boats coming back onto the beach after a night out fishing. The fishermen unload their catch for the day. You'll see a huge array of fish, octopus, seafood, the kids and you will love it. Afterwards plunk down on the beach to catch some rays or stop at a beach bar for a cool drink!

A lovely walk along the promenade overlooking the beach which has firm sand, cafes and a few shops. Wonderful!

Had a fantastic afternoon, just relaxing on the sandy beach. Building sandcastles and finding sea shells. The water itself can be quite rough, so don't expect swimming in the sea.
There are enough places around to have a drink or snacks/dinner. Parking is close to the beach and only costs 2eu for the whole day.

Lovely family beach.
Recommend hiring a kayat so you can view close the caves and explore.
Also options of jet ski s to hire but expensive.
A passage through the cliff side to another beach.
Bar and restaurant on the beach.

Our hotel has a shuttle to this beach, and when we arrived, they were doing zumba a little further along! There's a lovely parade of shops, restaurants and ice cream places, and even a little library shed on the beach itself. There's lots of space along this beautiful clean beach, and the sea is crystal clear, and sparkles turquoise and blue under the sun! Perfect sand for sandcastles near the edge of the water, and can also hire sunbeds and umbrellas, as well as pay for watersports like banana boat rides and pedalos with slides. A lovely day out for tha family.

Situated at the end of Armacao, the Fishermen's beach is very photogenic and well worth a twenty minute wander. There are rows of huts containing the fishermen's gear, often with a fisherman untangling his nets outside. There are quite a few boats drawn up on the beach, including some traditionally painted one's. If you are lucky you may see a crew who have just landed untangling a variety of fish from their nets. It is a working place so watch out for the tractor manoeuvring about!

There's a bewildering range of beaches in the Algarve, I spent nearly 2 months exploring most of them, this one is not particularly high on my list but it's a pleasant enough, mainstream beach, and easy access to food and drinks, which is an important factor too of course

This is a huge beach, long and wide. There is a plenty of entertainment: excursions to the caves (by boats), cafes nearby, fisherman boats to look at, and.. many different people. Of course, sun and sea!

We were fortunate to arrive in the Algarve at festival time. The beach of the fishermen had one the second week were there. This beach is easily accessible from the outdoor escalator and then across a smooth plaza that had ramps to the restaurants and flat access to the beach. The mostly pedestrian walks were filled with tourist shops and good restaurants. During the festival evenings there was live music and even more food and drink vendors. Everyone was having a good time. We loved watching and listening while we enjoyed our mixed kebab meal.

Hi I am planning to visit this area in March next year, please could anyone tell me if the escalators/lift to the beach are open all year and if there is any charge to use them? Thank you.

i,
I'm sorry I didn't notice any escalators or lift to the beach there were gentle slopes in most areas straight from the pavement. Hope that helps

Any trips to albufera by boat or bus trips cheers dean
Written 27 April 2016
There are busses that run regularly through armacao de pera to and from albufeira and lagos or you can arrange bus/taxi transfers from hotels.
In Albufeira there are plenty of different boat trips to chose from to go and explore the caves around the coast.
