We love books. So we entered the Evora public library more out of curiosity. Surprise! Second floor surrounds you with books from 14th and 15th century - they have older, but not for public, only research. Amazing!

The library has a rare books section that is wonderful. got to see books from 500 years ago which are just like treasures. I want to go back.

An important place for keeping Alentejo's History. It's so good to find a big and quiet public library in a city full of students. Great!

Although the Public Library is not even mentioned by most of the travel books, it's really a big "MUST" in Evora! Also our hostess (from "Evora Inn": very tidy, perfect allocation, great service, lovely decorated and very fair price, too!) recommended us to pay it...More
