Very well kept. A jewel to be preserved. I advise you to go around the wall walking or by car to get an idea of it all. Visiting only the interior we have no idea of architectural beauty.

The walls have 4 entrance and cover 1.2 kms. Some part of the wall was built during the Roman period. These walls reminded me of the ones in Avila in Spain.

Many old European cities were once surrounded by walls as protection from outside invaders or to segregate important residents from those not as important. The Walls of Évora are better than many cities’ remnants, and it’s clear that sections of the walls are from different...More

Many parts of central Evora are still surrounded by the old walls. You really don't get much sense of them while you're inside the historic city centre and there are no narrow footpaths that follow along top of the walls. You do get a great...More

The aqueduct and walls still stand tall surrounding this beautiful city. Walk through the wall into the old historical district of the city

Wonderful shops easy to walk and admire the history and life that is Portugal. The Church of the bones was a highlight as much history there... .
