We have a passion for megaliths. And sharing this passion is our mission.Present day Evora is in the center of an ancestral landscape that has a significance for all Humanity. Here you can find the remains of some of the oldest monuments of mankind in Western Europe. The early farmers and shepherds that created them, some 7500 years ago, didn't just create beautiful and impressive monuments - they have envisioned an entirely new way of relating with their world and have set the foundations for our current way of life. The megaliths, embodying the new ideology of this period in it's fullest - the domestication and transformation of the natural environment - remain today as distant messages, hidden in the fullness of time.Join one of our tours and discover more about your own history.

My knowledge of archeology was limited but today Mario taught me so much. Wear sturdy walking shoes - there is quite a bit of walking but it's worth it !! Highly recommend

Mario is an archeologist with a passion for the Neolithic sites near Evora. He explained so much about the stones and how they were aligned. He is truly passionate about these sites and this area of Portugal. Had we gone without a guide we would have missed so much. The carvings on the rocks are fascinating but very difficult to... More

This has been the highlight of a month in Portugal. Mario's knowledge and enthusiasm make the whole experience. Visiting these ancient neolithic sites is amazing but the information provided by Mario about each site makes the experience outstanding. An absolute must do in Portugal! Jo Australia

Booked this tour at our hotel on the advice of another guest . Had a small group , just four of us plus the driver and guide . This was off season though Glad we did as we would never have understood what we were looking at without one Having things explained to us by a trained archaeologist was important... More

Loved Mario's tour of the megalith's outside Evora and, to be honest, had we only used a guide book and existing signage, we would not have understood nor appreciated the megaliths anywhere near as much as we did thanks to him. For example, we would not have been able to recognize nor read the carvings on the stones without our... More

We loved our tour with Mario. We had a 12 year old with us, who enjoyed it as well, so it's definitely suitable for children. Seeing the Megaliths with him makes all the difference, otherwise it's difficult to understand what they are. Mario gave in depth explanations, and was able to answer all our questions, whether directly linked to the... More

Excellent tour. The sites were well explained by a knowledgeable archaeologist who led the tour. A very efficient and friendly way to see the megaliths.

If one is anywhere near Evora and has the slightest interest in history and/or archaeology, you must take this tour with young archaeologist Mario who grew up in this area playing among the ancient megaliths and burial tombs . He is passionate about not just archaeology but also his homeland . Mario and his driver Maria picked us up along... More
