We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a nice Cathedral in the center of Elvas. If you are walking the historic center this is a stop worth making.

If you get to Elvas and don't visit the cathedral you will not have experienced the town properly.
Not a particularly interesting place as cathedrals go but historic and memorable.
It is up to you to form a view on how memorably historic this shrine of Christianity is.
This place closes between 13.00 and 14.00 each day. Plan your visit to allow about one hour, at most, for your time here.
The entrance is free but a donation to the preservation of the cathedral is appreciated.

Some smaller cities in catholic countries have huge cathedrals, but not Elvas. The cathedral is located on a beautiful town square, and it not very spectacular. But it fits nicely and is certainly worth a visit.

Interesting from an architectural point of view but empty inside.
To pay to enter as a pensioner is disgraceful.
The amazing fort is ten times better and cheaper.

If you like over the top catholic architecture and iconic decoration, you're in the right place. Loads to see here for church historians. This place has a long history and plenty to show for it. Some really quite disturbing sculptures ...

This cathedral is not the most grand, of course for a small town, but it is free and has some very pretty elements to enjoy for a few minutes.

The cathedral is at the heart of this quiet city.
It is very beautiful, with sculptures and special paintings

Viewing church after church can get a bit tedious, but this one is definitely worth a visit and won't take too long. I have been in more spectacular but if you are in Elvas, I guess you are there to see the sights, so put it on your list.

There are some very beautiful elements in this church.
The painted vaulted ceiling, the stonework, the gilded woodcarvings, the marble main altar and the ravishing pipe organ make it an absolute must see.

A church is a church, but as far as this one goes it is in pretty good condition and if you are in the town it is worth a visit but i would not go out of my way just to come here for it. Plenty of other things to see in and around the town so add it to the list if you have time.
