Made a trip advisor account just to recommend this vineyard! My partner and I, stopped off at Brading station to try the wines. The tasting experience was really informative and well done, not to mention the wines themselves were delicious. Afterwards we ordered a glass of red each and took in the lovely scenery. As we were walking out of the vineyard in the rain one of the owners (Phillipa, I want to say) offered us both a lift back to the station which was incredibly sweet and without it we would have probably missed our train. A big thank you to everyone at Adgestone Vineyard for making our visit a memorable one. We’ll be ordering some wines from your online shop 😊
Thank you for the beautiful review. We are a little off the beaten track… but hopefully worth it! Xxx

Fantastic tasting tour, good vineyard tour
Really great wine tasting experience with a wide range of beverages from blue wine to chilli chocolate liquor. Lots of top tips on wine, details on the grapes and history of the place. Audio Tour was OK with great views up on the grounds. However, the information was quite heavy on general English wine making. Would have been better shorter with local information only. Plus, the reader on the audio tour was very Shakespeare hamlet style which went from odd to plummy and then annoying!
Thanks for the positive review. It’s definitely a challenge to write the narrative for a generic audio tour that can work for visitors from all walks of life! The wine tasting lessons are personalised so we can adapt the content to what the immediate audience wants to hear. From your review it sounds like we’re getting as close as we can to balancing differing desires from the whole experience!

Great audio Tour & Wine Tasting Experience
The sun shone (very helpful) and we did an audio tour with stop off points around the vineyards. Perhaps not something for a rainy day!! Views outstanding at the top of the vineyards, and a very informative tour which we did at our own pace. Followed by a tour of the cellars. Wine tasting experience great too! A lovely afternoon out.
Thank you for the lovely review. The vineyard tour is not an ideal experience on a rainy day, but at least the wine tasting experience is an all weather event ! 🍷

A lovely way to spend an afternoon
An amazing day out. We went out of curiosity as it had been raining the last time so we didn't stop. We did the full tour and tasting which was brilliant. The tour was really informative as was the tasting with the lovely Louise who was really friendly as well as knowledgeable. We topped it off with a lovely lunch in the sunshine which was also excellent. I would highly recommend it.
Thank you Tina for such a lovely review. We try hard to create a feel good, relaxed atmosphere and we’re so pleased you enjoyed Lou’s wine tasting session.

    Quirky Blue Wine
After seeing this vineyard on a tv programme we decided to visit during our Isle of Wight holiday. We walked from Sandown, and although it's only 2 and a half miles away, there are some narrow lanes and steep inclines to tackle, nonetheless, it was a pleasurable walk. We ate some nibbles for lunch and indulged in a bottle of oaked wine whilst enjoying afternoon entertainment in the form of an acoustic guitarist with a brilliant voice. We had a wander around the vineyard and the goats were very entertaining! My only criticism is that the none of the staff seemed to want to engage in conversation, and they weren't overly busy. I would loved to have learnt a bit more about the place and the people who worked there. Everyone was having a good time and thankfully there were 1 or 2 bottles of the 'famous blue' left on the shelf :-)
Thanks Rita for your review and we’re happy that you enjoyed most aspects. We have relayed your comments to our staff. What many customers don’t get to see is that on the occasions we are not packed full of customers, our staff do still have multiple other tasks to undertake; particularly at this time of year as we near harvest and farming tasks become a priority.

    Card only
Unfortunately no blue fizz today, which wasn’t great as that’s why we went. But lovely wine and seating area, the band has just started which seemed good. Only one bad point and this is why we left, card only!! We would have stayed for food as menu looked good but we didn’t want to pay with card. Apart from that very cool place.
Hi Betty We were unfortunately forced into a situation where we could only accept cards due to the local branches of high street banks closing. No local bank branch means no place we can go to pay in cash, and no place we can go to get change without a lengthy queue at the Post office. A sign of the times we’re afraid! As for the lack of the “blue fizz”; it has been so unbelievably sought after that we have sold out of it… despite having massively increased our production volumes over the last few years. It should be back in just before Christmas.

    Fun vineyard
Fun place to visit for all ages. The kids enjoyed seeing the goats and the cute free roaming chickens, the adults appreciated the humorous presentation and free tasting of hot salsa and berry jam as well as several samples of wine and spicy liquor. I did not like any whites, either too dry or sweet for me, my daughter loved the full body red, they were out of the blue sparkling wine. Lovely shop, cosy wine tasting area. Good size vineyard right by a large parking lot.
Thank you for the positive review. 😁

We arrived in the afternoon. We were looking forward to buying a bottle of something blue as we had seen it on the Isle of Wight tv programme. When we arrived, we were not met with a warm welcome. Instead, when we went into the shop and tasting area and exclaimed our excitement of the glass view in the floor to the cellar and all the lovely wine on show in the shop we were told “dogs are not allowed in the shop”. That’s fair enough but it would have been nice to be welcomed and “how can I help you”. We were very disappointed and left straight away as they clearly didn’t want our custom.

No Sophie, you are absolutely correct, We did not welcome you. You read the two large red signs on the door as you wheeled in that state NO DOGS! Then made a loud fuss about never coming back. We are a licensed food producer. We don’t want your dog cocking it’s leg in our shop, nor does our environmental health officer. How hard is that to understand? We love dogs, but even our own are not allowed inside the shop. Get a grip love. Ignoring 2 signs on the door is one thing. The comedy sign on the car park entrance says, “No Stupid People Past This Point”. Seems you missed that one too!!

We just found this by chance, following a tourism road sign. What a find. Really nice wines and excellent lunch, all served in an outdoor environment with many varieties of chickens, goats, dogs and pigs all roaming freely but so as to disturb our lunch. But very entertaining nevertheless.

For £12 each for a circuit of the vineyard with ear phones took us about 15 minutes. The audio talked about wine production in the UK and very little about this vineyard. The vats were there but nothing was actually happening. It was very small. One of them said ingredients contained Nuts. However the owner said it is supposed to mean nutrients, bit misleading! The owner just said I may do something about it next year. Not the right attitude.

Another thing was the owner kept vaping where the public were eating, this should not be allowed. Not setting a good example especially to children.

Gordon The tour consists of a fixed route around the vineyard listening to an audio device with headphones. The audio script of 9 chapters is 39 minutes long ( I wrote it, I know)). Starting with this as a FACT, your review is already a lie and the rest not worth considering. This is a vineyard. A wine production company. Very clearly a venue for the enjoyment and education of adults, not children. We are not a playground and offer one of very few attractions on the island where adults can enjoys themselves without a playground atmosphere. On the tour, you enter the cellars. A wine manufacturer environment. The tanks have lots of info written on them so we are sure whenever yeast, nutrient, protein reducer, acid regulator etc have been added to ensure perfect wine is made. Most of these ingredients have long words due to there chemical composition, so we often shorten them or use acronyms. If you are so so childish that nuts instead of nutrients is written on a tank, and you feel so compelled to complain on social media, then you need to go to one of the 150 playgrounds here on our island and FO (that’s another acronym) not a vineyard for adults.

£40 for a bottle of sparkling wine that tastes like chemicals. It's hardly Epernay.
They can't cope with demand at busy times- food service was chaotic and took ages. Good live music and the farm aminals are a plus. Expensive gift shop.

Hi Clare Every year we sell out of the “novelty wine” way before the season ends and everyone is welcome to taste it first; so clearly to the majority of people it is not a mere novelty. During summer time we have live music every day, which does mean we get very busy with people all turning up at the same time just as the music starts and creating a bottle neck on food orders, thereby slowing service briefly. All customers are warned before ordering about any lengthy waiting times so that they can decide whether to stay or not. The vast majority do stay and enjoy themselves as evidenced by our positive reviews both here and on Google/ Facebook. The prices in our farm shop reflect prices charged across the Isle of Wight for local produce. Perhaps we caught you on a bad day ?
