We booked online before travelling. Much cheaper than the cruise ship alternative transfers. Once off the ship, we took a free shuttle bus to the port gates and then the bus was a five minute walk around the corner. There was a ticket booth at the bus stop and we collected our tickets to board the bus from there. They give you a map and a timetable. You just show your booking voucher which you need to print off at home. You are dropped off in a big car/ coach park which is about a 10/15 minute walk into Bruges centre through a park. The walk is flat. It was all very easy and you catch the bus back from the same spot. There were also taxis outside the gates waiting which might work out cheaper if there are a few of you to split the costs. No problems waiting for a bus to return on - all seemed very well organised but we were not travelling in peak times as it was end October. Just need to make sure you leave plenty of time to walk back to the bus stop as all the stops in tempting chocolate shops make the walk back take longer! Would use again.

My husband and I were really concerned how we would efficiently and affordably get into Bruges from the cruise port since we wanted to explore Bruges on our own and not go on a cruise excursion. Cruise Express was the answer. When you get off your cruise look for a free port shuttle that will take you to the port gate. Then get off that bus and look for the "Cruise Express" tent. You can buy your tickets right at the tent. They do except credit cards. They were super nice people. The round trip ticket to Bruges and back to the port gate is 20 euros per person. The transport bus is not luxury but it is efficient and more cost effective than a taxi which costs 50 euros each way. It takes about 20-25 minutes to get Bruges on the Cruise Express bus. When you buy your tickets they will give you a map and a bus schedule. The last bus leaves Bruges at 3:30 pm which gets you back to the cruise port gate where you then hop on the free shuttle which takes you right to where you board the cruise in the perfect amount of time. This process was super easy. I definitely recommend this transport option.

The office was easy to find just outside the port entrance. As we had pre booked our tickets it was straight forward to get our physical bus tickets and map of Bruges. We were given some tips and explanation of a good walk into the city from the drop off point and the times of return shuttle. The staff here were helpful and friendly.
However the return was not so good. We arrived at the pickup point (return times had been given as 15.30, 16.00, 16.30, 17.00 & 17.30) at 15.45 but a bus did not arrive til 16.30. One of the other passengers commented that she had been waiting since 15.35, and as another passenger asked the driver if she could wait for the next bus, the first lady suggested that she got on this one as it seemed the times of the next bus might not be reliable or might not come at all. (And cruise ships won’t wait for you)
The driver then got off the bus and took down the meeting point sign and stowed it in the bus. The lady passenger asked him how any one coming for the later buses would know where to wait but he didn’t answer, she asked again and he turned and shouted at her (he didn’t speak English to us so we don’t know what he said). She asked him again what about the other later passengers and he again shouted rudely and drove the bus back to Zeebrugge.
This was quite unpleasant and unprofessional, there was concern over what would happen to any other passengers and there was no reason for this driver to be so rude.

Just returned from five day p and o cruise. When we docked in Brugge we pre booked with cruise express to transfer us from cruise terminal into the main town. The buses run every thirty minutes the lady gave us a map directing us where to go a really excellent service costing half the price the cruise line quoted.
A return journey is 20 euros person

We used this company to transfer from the cruise dock in Zeebrugge to Bruges. We left on the first bus in the morning and everything went well. Staff was friendly. They dropped us off where they said instructed us when the busses would be leaving for the afternoon return and everything was good. We returned at 3:15 for the final 3:30 bus. When we arrived we asked the gentleman who had helped us in the morning where we would meet the bus. He pointed us to the flagged spot on the curb. When we got there there were 15-20 people waiting who had tried to take the 3:00 P.M. bus which was too full so they were waiting for the 3:30. At 3:45 15 minutes after our scheduled leave time someone pointed out the bus had parked a few hundred yards away. There were now at least 60 people waiting. We ran over to the new spot and they told us the bus was full. This was the last bus of the day and at this point our ship’s all aboard was only 45 minutes away. We ended up shoving people on every nook and cranny of that bus probably over 100 people on the bus. One passenger insisted we go back to the original place they had told us to wait were we picked up a few more people and we all got to know our neighbors very well. We made it back to the port 4 minutes before our all aboard time and we were among the last group to make the ship. Either they don’t have enough buses to meet demand or have poor planning with counting the people yet to return but the company was not prepared to have everyone returned the ship on time. With something like this I feel like that is the absolute required minimum and they failed to meet it.

When we arrived at the pier, there was no tent, no bus, and no way to contact anyone. We walked up and down the area for over an hour until we finally gave up and took a taxi. Saw the bus on the taxi ride back. When I sent an email demanding refund, it was refused. Seems to work for some...not for everyone.

Catch the port shuttle from the ship to the port exit, turn right as you leave the gates. Walk past the taxi rank and head to the blue gazebo. It was €20 return to a bus station 5 mins walk from the centre of Brugge. We were given maps of a nice route to walk and our bus driver explained how to get from the bus stop to the centre of town. Return journeys run every half hour from 12.30, last return trip is at 15.30. It was a really quick and easy way to get in and back to town. I would definitely recommend the cruise express!

First we had to wait until the shuttle from the ship to the gates was full, about 15 min, and then when we got off the bus, the signage was hard to see. We waited another 15 min at the bus. The directions from the bus stop in Brugge is not hard to find, but it would have been nice if we had directions. The parking lot where we were dropped off and to be picked up is huge and the bus was not in the same place as the drop off. It was hard to find, many people went to the regular bus pick up on the other side of the highway bridge. We had mments of panic as we had arrived 10 min before the hour and it took 10 min to find the bus. Luckily we did as it left soon after. Others were running through the parking lot to catch up. Perhaps more didn't make it.
Bus is comfortable. Driver was not overly helpful.

Priced right, but we found Cruise Express to be unreliable. Our instructions told us that we'd find cruise express 50 m from the port gate. While the 300 or so m we walked was not unreasonable, the wrong info did cause confusion. We found their kiosk at about 10:45, and converted our pre purchased vouchers to tickets. The line to get on at this location was well organized, and we boarded the bus at 10:55, only to sit without air conditioning until 11:30, at which time they finished selling all the seats. The ride into town, except for the temperatures of the bus, was smooth, and the bus what clean.
Our return trip was a nightmare. We arrived at the designated meeting place at 3:05, and found that people were lining up for the 3:30 bus at the point where we were told to be. The bus didn't arrive until 3:55..... Apparently, every half hour was not the case. When it did arrive, it pulled into a completely different part of the parking lot, and 50 minutes of standing on line suddenly became meaningless. People suddenly emerged from every corner of the parking lot, with the younger people running to get to the bus, and the older people getting to the back of the line. At least a dozen or more people (including including myself), had to stand in the crowded, hot bus, for the 1/2 hour ride back to the cruise port.
Many of us called to the driver to turn on the air. I don't know if there was air conditioning, but, we were ignored.
Perhaps this particular day was not their usual service, with three large ships in port, but I found the service to be a great disappointment.

Went on CRUISE EXPRESS SHUTTLE from Celebrity Cruise Ship into Bruges July 29/17. The way there wasn't so bad. FYI- we found the scale on their map to be crazy inaccurate- might be good to have a google map along with you so you don't get freaked out. Trip home was ridiculous. The drive was not the least bit welcoming or pleasant-, he defiantly demanded tickets and then proceeded to jam pack the bus so much it was insane- which even then you could understand for a block or two- but this bus was heading a half hour back to port on the highway!. He even pushed open the back doors- told a guy with his wife/mother in w wheel chair to stuff her in there (keep in mind the bus was already over packed to capacity) and then walked away while the guy tried to heave the wheel chair up .into the door way...once they got in- the driver apparently felt we were crammed in there enough to get the show on the road. We were so pissed- we actually took a picture of the driver to send to the Head office- but figure it won't matter to them either. If there had been any collision- they would have been sued to hell and back..

The city of Bruges was beautiful and well worth the visit. Find a safer way to get there!!
