A small but interesting and reasonably priced place. Some interesting exhibits from a century ago. Good scenic exhibits with mannequins in old uniforms of the era together with lots of rifles, bullets and shells,

I came to Ypres to visit the grave of my great uncle. He is buried in the Hooge Crater Cemetery. We stopped at the museum first and we're quite surprised by how informative it was. I enjoyed looking for my uncle's military insignias.

Located in the vicinity of the Hooge Crater (since filled for the road to be contructed in the '20s), I think this museum is a must for those travelling the area, if only for the atmosphere conveyed by the location being next to the Hooge...More

This is private museum that is very well presented. It gives a good representation of the conflict and lose suffered in WW1. A nice cafe for a drink and a snack. My Grandfather fought here so had a personal interest.

Recommended. This is an excellent museum with some of the best displays to be found. A visit to the Hooge Crater, which is free, is advised - about 100 metres up the road in hotel grounds

Not my first visit but much improved since last time. The exhibits are well presented with lots of battlefield items. Well worth a visit. Friendly staff and café attached. Also close to the Hooge cemetery across the road.
