Don't miss out on this little gem of a local chocolate shop in the Burg Square. They have a variety of chocolates, all look so great, it was tough not to buy 'em all! The lady who owns the shop was super sweet and threw in a couple extra truffles for me. Try the melon truffle! It was amazing!

Our experience at Chocalaterie De Burg left us with a very sour taste when leaving Brugges. We certainly don't recommed this place to anybody; primarily due to the very rude, unprofessional and bitter lady running the shop.
Having been quoted an incorrect price before filling our tins, and after spending a long time to decide what we wanted, the woman failed to apologise when she told us the price was almost double that which we had been told. She turned aggressive, throwing our tins around, holding them back threatening not to sell us our chocolates at all. This clearly reflects her general attitude to the shop; our synmpathies lie with her poor assistant who was clearly bullied by her.
This woman should not be given the priviedge to be running a chocolate shop in a town which is so highly renowned for the trade. We are saddened by this experience and hope that no one else makes the same mistake as us.

The lady that works there is a total witch ... No service and the place wasn't even that great , i don't recommend this place to anybody

Extraordinarily good. Owner couldn't have been more obliging despite being so busy, frequently a line of people waiting. She gave me a few chocolates to taste, made some great recommendations including a well-priced, boxed variety, in fact they were so delicious I came back from Brussels another day just to buy more. A really helpful piece of advice she gave every customer was NOT to put chocolate in the fridge, but in a cool place. I'm from a hot climate so a tiled floor away from foot traffic is perfect for a block of chocolate; for a box, removed some chocolates, put them in foil, close, then spread on the tiles so all chocolates are cooled. Worth it for the taste!

We bought several chocolates in Belgium and this were by far the best. The owner herself chose a selection for us. She has different qualities to cater to everyone, the ones in the far right of her store are par to none.

Artisanal chocolates too good to share despite their advice to do so. There is a very extensive variety making it hard to chose!Great service as well.

The most amazing chocolate that I have ever tasted across the world! I have had the pleasure of visiting Bruges twice and each time purchased a variety of chocolates to try. Absolutely to die for! Ask for their cooler bags to prevent the chocolate from melting in hot weather. I was able to bring some back safely to America as a gift for family. Look forward to visiting again next time I am in town!

This place was recommended by our walking tour guide who grew up in Bruges so we had to try it. We got a box with a variety (did not choose ourselves) and liked some better than others, but overall very good. The price was nice, but we liked the more expensive chocolates we got in Brussels better. Would still recomend, especially for the price relative to other options.

This chocolaterie has the most awesome red pepper and green pepper chocolate bars. The man working behind the counter gave us samples and boxed up chocolates. Our experience there made the day in Brugges!

Marleen is friendly and helpful.
This little shop is a gem. Variety of chocolates, candies, cookies (also sugar free) in a box or a tin of your choosing.
Definitely try the homemade chocolates who come in a variety of flavors! Loved the herb ones!
