Wish we'd gone last time with our kids. As two adults this was brief and moderately interesting as a simple summary of the history of the region, but most of the activities are aimed at kids. However the writing on the activities is only in Flemish, so not sure my little English speakers would've got the full benefit of all... More

I had seen descriptions that this museum explained the skills of an archeologist. Nevertheless, I expected to see some authentic items in a historic city like Brugge. But apart from some old looking pot fragments and tiles I was disappointed. Maybe that the presentation of archeology skills appeals to children. But to me as an adult it had no value.... More

I'm really interested in archaeology and re-enactment, so I wanted to visit this museum. Unfortunately there was nothing which was worth to see (just a few artefacts, infantile exhibitions and a few poor quality reconstructions). I strongly recommend to visit other places or just take a stroll by city centre.

This is for children. If you are over 5 feet tall then I guess you’ll miss most of it (it has very low windows and displays). If you are shorter and younger (accompanied by parents), you will probably love this.

Although I speak a few languages, Flemish is not one of them. Unfortunately, all the exhibits are only annotated in Flemish. There is an English ( and French and German) guide shert but the info on it is pretty scanty. Lots of broken pots, a few bits and pieces , some interactive exhibits ( which werent working on the day... More

This museum is part of the museum pass so we decided to visit it. However it is only in Dutch and being English speaking I cannot recommend it we didn't understand it.

We've been all over Europe and find that archaeological museums are usually our favorite. But this museum is anything but that. We had seen everything else we had planned to and having a few hours left of our visit and in the bitter cold we decided to retreat into the museum. There are no impressive artifacts on display. There are... More

The only good thing was that this was covered on our Museum pass and we didn't purposely pay to go in because it was the worst museum I think I've ever been in. It was ridiculously bad. We just whizzed through it because it was so boring and badly done. The only good thing about it was there was a... More

Were this a Dadaist art show or a hidden camera trick, I'd applaud it. As it was, a single-sided unintelligible Google-translated A4 sheet reminiscent of a 1970's Japanese tech manual was all there was to guide us around a bizarre collection of tat. Like an end of year display at my kid's Primary School, except less coherent and informative. Our... More
