The museum has a quite good selection of paintings from different eras. The van Eyck Madonna and Child is stunning. Although there are informative panels, I really would have liked a audio guide like one gets at the van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam or the...More

If you love 15th century art work there are some gorgeous examples here. The museum is well laid out with sitting benches. There are paintings through various eras but my favourites were the Renaissance and pre-Renaissance work. Good value for money in my opinion.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this museum. It is easy to locate and once there you can wander around at your own pace and soak up the ambience of the space and enjoy the amazing art work on display. Staff friendly and helpful.

Disappointed with size and collection. Not far from Market Square and close to the canal, It takes less than an hour and you often have tour groups limiting a clear access to paintings,

Lots of interesting paintings especially the Flemish Primitives. Very clever feature - the museum provides folding chairs to take round so that you can sit and peruse in comfort,

This museum is small but worth the visit for some hidden gems. Van eyck and Bosch are here. We did have some trouble finding the place, but we're glad to dip in for a little over an hour.

The Groeninge Museum is small, but its exquisite collection of Flemish masters makes it one of the world's 'don't miss' art museums. It takes less than two hours to give it its due, but its rewards stay with you for a long time afterwards. The...More

I believe you are referring to The Madonna with Canon van der Paele by Jan Van Eyck. Although it's the madonna seated on the throne, not a man.
