There are two issues here. One is the Museum's location: absolutely astonishing. And the size. It is not a huge museum and this is wonderful Lots of Flemish art organised in eleven rooms. Great experience without spending lots of hours looking at hundreds of pics. Do not miss the Arenthuis, entrance included in the Groeninge ticket.

This is a great small museum which you can't miss if you are interested in art. There are several great masterpieces by artists such as Van Eyck as well as more modern works including a beautiful early Magritte. No need to rush around as the museum can be seen in an hour or so: not big on quantity but the... More

Good for the size, but not an extensive museum. There was also little description by the paintings to give them context which was a shame,.

Very close to our hotel in Dijver and well worth a couple of hours browsing the art and history of Bruges.

On a rainy day in Brugge this is a quiet and thoughtful place to be. Welcoming and enlightening without any pressure to experience it, in any way that challenges you more than - you wish to be challenged.

Groeninge is simply wonderful - a rich collection of beautifully curated works of Flemish artists, many of them local to Bruges, from 15th to early-20th century. Van Eyck, Provoost, Van Oost, Peter Pourbus, the striking Last Judgement by Bosch, some fine examples of Bruges interpretation of Baroque and Classical art, Flemish Expressionists, and a few exquisite paintings by Jean Brusselmans... This little museum is a comfortable one hour plus stroll around the artistic history of Belgium. The Bosch is stunning with the centre piece being in shades of grey. The layout of the museum is logical and very pleasing to the eye, a masterpiece in its own right. Friendly welcome at the door and a place to leave all your... More

This is definitevely a wonderful museum. You can enjoy the many and rich old-masters Flemish masterpieces, from Bosch to van Dyck. The museum is surrounded by gardens so you also enjoy arriving to this museum. The shop is lovely, it offers really interesting collections of books, and the lady in charge knows much on Flemish art (we asked her on... More

Loved the Ellen Harvey exhibition. The exhibits are well displayed and are a good mixture of different styles.
