Been to Bruges a couple of times but didn't consider doing this before - so glad I did, you can see hidden gems not available from the street! Very reasonably priced, well worth it.

What a brilliant way to forget about the rain and have 30 minutes pass very quickly with a funny and well informed tri lingual guide who handed out huge pink umbrellas to everyone!! Wish it had been longer!

I have no first hand knowledge of this however there seems to be a great deal of information suggesting that they do not operate in December this from the Bruges visitor site.. March to mid-November: daily 10.00 a.m.-6.00... More

Sorry for delayed reply. There are at least 3 places to pay/catch a boat and the town is very small so hard to miss them!

They don't take prebookings as far as I know. It's a question of buying a ticket (cash only) and queuing. There are a number of pick up points around Bruges. Google Bootochten Brugge for more info.
