The Patershol Area in Ghent goes back to the Middle Ages. Enter these narrow lanes and take in the sights of old houses and old buildings turned into restaurants. It takes you back to a more simple time in Ghent. This is definitely worth your...More

I got to know this area by getting lost in it. It might simply be my lack of geographical orientation skills, but I could almost swear these cosy cobbled streets change positions the minute you enter. Once inside, you have truly emerged in the old...More

In Patershol you go in some streets back to the Middle Ages. Small streets with beautiful old houses. There are now a lot of restaurants.

Beautiful area to walk around in and just take it all in. Great for people watching and relax at a local cafe and watch the boats go by too.

If you visit Ghent in August : check the dates of the famous Patershol feesten, they truely transform this historical part of Ghent into one big party weekend with music, food and booze of course

A really nice neighborhood with good and calm restaurants. In the center of Ghent, but considered the border of the city center, a calm place to walk around

This part of the center (actually just over the bridge northwest of the oldest part of town) has lots of old buildings. Many restaurants and bars are here. Some have a lovely small inner courtyard, or a terrace overlooking the canal. Great atmosphere here.

In the old city near the castle, great location but food is nothing special and service was cold and almost unfriendly. I will not use this place again. Many better places around.

Nice lane full of restaurants. There are restaurants with all kinds of cuisines here. Nice place for a hearty meal.

A nice area just to amble around, a few little shops and cafes, along by the canal, so just enjoy the ambiance. At night the area comes to life with lots of ethnic restaurants.
