The 'Paters Hol' used to be one of the poorer neighborhoods in the city of Ghent. Today it is a buzzing place, packed with restaurants and boutiques, giving it a kind of Bohemian charm. Just wander round and enjoy a beautiful little terrace or a...More

but we were disappointed. OK, the old houses have their Flair, Walking through and enjoying a nice sunny afternoon is no watse of time, but "full of artisanal Shops and Little Restaurants..." sorry, no.

Gent is great because it is so small and safe. We decided to take a walk around Patershol and loved the cute homes, cobblestone streets, small restaurants and shops. If you have time, it's nice to take a leisurely stroll with no plan in mind

This is an old part of the city, with lots of different shops, cafés, places to eat and so cosy. Just walk into the narrow streets and let go!

Absolutely amazing ribs! Great service, very polite, well priced. I can not say enough about this place. I've travelled to some very odd places in my life and eaten some very interesting foods, this restaurant has been by far one of the more delightful places...More

I always find this place quaint, peaceful and quiet. Maybe I just always went on the right time in the afternoon but never busy. Worth to just have a little look around.

Nice place, slightly crowded, very good meat and beer. Three people, three second plates (big, very big) water, three beers. Roughly 70€

Patershol is worth a detour. We all agree that this old town location where the poor and deprived once lived 300y or so ago and where its residents spoke their own slang whom nobody in Ghent could understand ! is now restored, and its narrow...More

This neighborhood has changed a lot over the past 15 years. Many buildings have been repaired and this is a very well kept historical neighbourhood. Nowadays many artists have left and their studios have been replaced by expensive restaurants.

Hi, the area is so tiny that it is difficult to get lost. The best is to stroll around and to enjoy the atmosphere as it is. If you still want directions, I would advise you to enter from the waterside, take the... More
