Oh, we went there during Corona (July 2020) and it was quite strange. A huge line of people waiting to be let in but it seemed as there was no control, once you get inside the market (I mean, it is open air but there was some kind of metal fence around it) everyone is side by side anyway so I did not really understand. The market was divided into two sides (direction of going) so to go to the other side there was also a huge line. I really did not understand. Lots of food being sold, cheese, italian stuff, spanish stuff. Really cool if you live there but for us as we are travelling it would not be worth it to buy anything perishable.

One of our memorable moments was going to La Batte in Liege and visiting the flea market there on a Sunday. You have the river as a back drop, all kinds of different booths, food, and items for sale. It's a fun time. If your in the area you need to visit.

People from all over the province and even the Netherlands come to visit the multi cultural market. On sunny days people walk shoulder to shoulder. You 'll find food, cloths, live animals, jewelry and electronic stalls. Don't go there if you dislike crowds.

This is a very large and active market with much going on. It's not nearly as amazing as the flea markets in Paris or the Salamanca in Hobart but still, a nice way to spend part of a beautiful summer day in Liege partly due to its lovely location along the river. There is a nice selection of food, excellent produce at reasonable prices and, of course, many stalls selling underpriced clothing items, sunglasses etc. I was a bit disappointed that there were no stalls for "Flea market items or antiques" but still had a good time.
