August 2016: I was really curious about this place. The aquarium part was really nice, but the animal part of the museum was a bit overwhelming. There were a lot of stuffed animals, most of them I had never seen before. If your around, you should take a look.

Not only is the museum a bit awkward on lay-out with the aquarium in the cellar and the zoological museum on top (with two floors of other functions in between), also it’s in dire need of an overhaul. It’s practically a museum you would expect to find in the 70’s of last decade. Hardly any interaction, hand-written notes of explanation and well, let’s not even talk of the cloakroom. On the other hand, it’s low fee (6,2€) or free with museumpas/ passmusee. On a positive note: on the second floor there is a playroom for kids 0-5y…

The exhibition about fish is quite ok but the tanks could be bigger and some of them should have a nicer decoration for the fish and the visitor. The zoological museum has a very broad collection of animals but they could be presented in a more appealing way. It looks like it is just a collection put together in the attic. Some of the skeletons however are really impressive. However, to my surprise, definitely worth a visit.…

It has a lot of Fish and animals to see. Also there are enough explanations zo you can learn a lot about the fauna of our planet. But, it is not very well organized. The arrangement of the exhibits is based on ancient models of museology so it is not very attractive for the visitor.…

The Aquarium and Zoological Museum is a museum of the University of Liege dedicated to the aquatic world and natural sciences. The Aquarium allows you to discover the seas of Europe including sharks and moray eels, tropical seas and coral reefs with balloon fish, groupers, seahorses, rockfish and a tortoise with scales over 20 years old, the tropical fresh waters where you can see piranhas of the Amazon, European freshwater gathering pike, carp, barbel, of our regions. It also has a turtle a crocodile and a coral room. The Museum occupies the second floor of the Zoology Institute of the University of Liege. It has about 20,000 specimens. Very interesting collection of Invertebrate, vertebrate, mammal, Belgian wildlife, the "Galere-Servais" collection featuring mammals such as deer, and the Corals collection. Definitely worth a visit.…
